Get active for outdoor expo

NAMBOUR Showground has been transformed into a caravan city for a leisure and life style expo that organisers hope will attract more than 15,000 people today and tomorrow.

The latest products for getting outdoors, on wheels and on water are on display at the inaugural South Queensland Caravan, Camping, Boating and Fishing Expo.

Event director Bob Carroll hopes the event will boost the Sunshine Coast economy, with visitors expected from across the greater region as well as Brisbane, Toowoomba and the south-west, and the Fraser Coast.

Mr Carroll said now was a great time to purchase leisure vehicles and products with lots of incentives at the event.

"Even though we are coming into the cooler months, the June school holidays are around the corner," he said.

More than $10,000 in prizes are up for grabs at the expo.

This includes $1000 worth of fishing gear to be won each day thanks to the Shimano Fishing Tank display and $1500 worth of ECOPOT cookwear goodies each day, with entry coupons in the Sunshine Coast Daily.
