Good morning everyone.
We had a rain effected day, just nuisance stuff.
Cleaned a bit more out of the Motorhome...still more to come out.
Been running around with tape measure looking for a fridge that wont mean loosing the microwave. I HAVE BEEN TOLD I may have found one...I hope
Also done a bit of gardening...she has almost lost the hives...then she can do it..
As it turned out I could have walked yesterday...the rain stayed away long enough ...but...
I haven't been told what's happening today yet...
I sympathize with you Terry I also have had a episode with a concrete colvent.

I have the last of the Narva inline fuse holders https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/27448969420 ... R47M543EYw now so I can make up the terminal fuse adaptors to go on the battery cells to protect the wires to the Junsi that monitors the cell voltages .... one of those necessary things if you want your lithium battery to last.

The problem today, it's so hot I'm not sure the solder will reset More than 30 mins outside requires an hr inside under the air con to recover. I'd leave it till tomorrow, but that won't help, they say we are looking at a week of this over 40*C and apparently the good fairies don't work in the extreme heat or cold
The rooftop rattler in the motorhome is useless in this heat. Rated @ 2.8kW cooling (even that is stretch of the truth) it just can't cope.

I'm looking at fitting one of these https://www.airconditioning-online.com. ... er-system/ or similar. It's a combination of dimensions of both the indoor (height it will stick out the roof) and outdoor unit (height to fit in a bin) the COP rating and sound level (dB pressure) but the complications added are deciphering what half of the specs actually mean ... TCSPF (Cooling), Sound pressure level4 (H / M / L) dB(A) 39.0 / 34.0 / 27.0 and Sound power level dB(A) 56 as well as EER and AEER WTF ... at least I know what that one means

Sound Power, Sound Pressure
The difference between sound power and sound pressure levels is similar to that between the power of a heater and the temperature that it produces. If you stand close to a heater in a large room you will be able to feel heat from it; if you are at the far end of the room you will probably not feel anything. The temperature that the heater produces depends upon how far you are from it and the characteristics of where it is located. The heater will produce a higher temperature in a well insulated room than in a draughty, uninsulated one.

Sound power level is the acoustic energy emitted by a source which produces a sound pressure level at some distance. While the sound power level of a source is fixed, the sound pressure level depends upon the distance from the source and the acoustic characteristics of the area in which it is located.

A sound source will produce a higher sound pressure level in a small reflective (reverberant) room than in a large acoustically dead (absorptive) room or an open space. The units in which the power of a heater is measured may be Watts while the temperature may be measured in degrees(e.g. Centigrade). Similarly, the energy emitted by a sound source is in Watts and the sound pressure this produces can be measured in Pascals.

For acoustic purposes, sound power and sound pressure levels are quantified in decibels which are a logarithmic ratio. In the case of a sound power level the reference value is 10-12 Watts whereas the reference value for sound pressure level is 2.10-5 pascals. This means that although the sound power and sound pressure levels equate to Watts and Pascals, respectively, they are both measured in decibels (relative to the appropriate reference unit). This tends to cause considerable confusion because a sound source producing a sound power level of 100dB, for example, will produce a sound pressure level that varies, as noted above, with distance and other factors such that it may be 90 dB relatively close to the source and 80 dB at a somewhat greater distance.

It is best to quantify a source in terms of the sound power level emitted because this does not change, whereas the resultant sound pressure level will depend upon how and where it is measured, which means that quantifying a source by the sound pressure level produced may leave considerable uncertainty in the actual sound energy of the source. Sound is measured in decibels (dB [capital B]) where 0dB is around the threshold of hearing for somebody with good hearing and every 10dBA increase equates to an approximate doubling of loudness. This means that a level of 40dB sounds about twice as loud as 30dB whereas as 50dB sounds approximately four times as loud.

The first bit made sense, the rest may require a few rereads, but basically it appears to say the sound power level is if you were standing beside the unit, the other one seems to be a guestimation and affected by what type of sound insulation is added to either absorb or reflect the sound waves to an area it would be less annoying ....

AEER is defined as the ratio of the cooling capacity to the effective power input for cooling plus standby power. EER is the ratio of the cooling capacity to the power input. ACOP is defined as the ratio of the heating capacity to the effective power input for heating plus standby power.

Got it, sort of, but is it the standby power while the unit is actually performing the task, or an average of the total energy used in standby mode for a yr added to the actual power used over an average use per yr? Certainly looks like using the isolation switch to cut standby power draw could be an advantage ...

Good arvo.Just put the house air con on. G also put the bus's air con on as I will be using the convection MW out there and not in the house (too hot ) T1 the bus's air cons doing a great job . How come you men like Ray hitting posts, T1 hitting rocks and Bernie bashing culverts???? hmm Keep cool and safe

What model air con do you have Dottie? It read 48*C on the air con in the bus when I turned it on around lunch time, so I turned it off again and went inside

No stobie poles near our driveways and I never back out. When G first went into the bus around 4pm the temp read 39degs, after he turned it on it went down to 30 but that took around 2 hours, IF he had of turned the 2 on, the temp would have gone down more. They are both Air Command, (Ibis) one is a later model. Same company different name.
