Terry your loo sounds like someone has done things back to front, here is how you use it...
1/ lift the loo lid
2/ sit down and do your business
3/ Put the lid down
4/use the foot pedal by a short sharp push down.
5/ If there was streaks then lift the pedal up to put a bit more water in the bowl to clean it.
6/ PUT the lid down and flush again.
Never flush the loo with the seat up
We usually turn on the water pump on before using the loo..
When G installed ours he increased the height to the height of the house loo. .
Tried that method originally, no success, blocked every time. Tried just holding the pedal down but part way through the download, I got wet gonads, the bowl had filled with water. Learnt from there to turn the water pump off.
Next we tried it without the water running but full vacuum built up, still blocked. So the method we use listed above works every time, just a nuisance having to go through such a process.
Maybe it's the U turn the pipe does behind the toilet the wall. It goes up around a mtr, a short join and then back down, then across the floor and through the hole to the maze of bends that gets it into the cassette.
All that was hidden by the stove, now the stove is gone, it's not a good look inside the cupboard when we get that built by the carpenter mob beside the old workshop.
The macerator toilet is the correct height, plenty of bowl room complete with the extended bit I made to place the macerator pump under the floor, so the download goes straight to the chopper blades, just have to be careful not to lean back on the switch and start it running while I'm still seated, don't want a similar result as the ATR button on bidet
