Enjoy Sofala. We intend going back there one day & also to Hill End as we were pushed for time in 2008. Have a pie at the Post Office- yes I said Post office. They were home made there so check it out- they were sooooooooooo good, especially on the cold drizzly day that it was. We went from there over to twin towns of Kandos&Rylston. Kandos also have yummy pies.
Time is passing too quickly so live life to the full with your spouse/partner while you still have she/he by your side.

Sofala was a bit of a dud. Post Office closed, Gaol cafe closed. Had a 10 minute wander around with not much to see so continued on. The scenery on this drive was spectacular though. Now camped at Lake Liddle just south of Muswellbrook. Nice spot but raining.
Cheers

That’s one of the pitfalls of travelling (and being retired), you lose track of what day it is and all of a sudden you get a reminder when you lob into some small town and find no-one home!!! And then release it’s a weekend.
With the thousands of tourists visiting Longreach every year you would think it would be a 7 day a week place, but noooooooo, it’s mostly a ghost town on a Sunday

No they are not into this bush bashing stuff and no we will not be going back even if asked. Hate scabby people when it comes to food and comfort and before I get pounced on for "maybe they can't afford good food or power for comfort rubbish" yes they can to both but are just mean and scabby. They both have all the new gadgets and gizmoes with all the bells and whistles, fake nails and hair done weekly etc etc. Nah not our cuppa tea at all...

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
I prefer the old camp fire and a nice steak with fried onions and capsicum with pepper gravy and a nice big scoop of mashed spuds and pumpkin and sweet potato. Tonights tea sitting in the paddock after a days rain.
Had a fella here today cutting fire wood and he cut a few big logs into short lengths for me and I used his axe to chop into bits so I can finish with the tomahawk to fit. One of the perks.
Shearing yesterday till the shearers spat the dummy as their pants were getting wet from the sheep LOL. Will try again on Thursday with a different group and see if we can get a few more done. I was the broom BOY nearly got to fly off I had it moving so fast.
Stay safe everyone and enjoy life
And it will soon be goodnight from me as the sun has gone down in this part of the world.
Regards
Brian
