Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Good morning.
I can't help with them Shirley...but they do look like petrified timber.
Another slow day...Carol cut what's left of my hair :D :D
And I mowed the front lawn. May do the back today.
I did take the motorhome from the shed to let the sun put some energy into the batteries, they did get to float...been awhile since that's happened. :?
That was as much excitement for the day.
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Good morning All. Currently at Benalla, clear sky and 6*. I will be heading toward Taggerty shortly where I will need to fit a new fan belt as the current one seems to have stretched.

Good morning 15c max 20c, showers, rained most of the night, the rain has stopped & sky cleared a little at the moment.

Bernie it certainly looks & feels like petrified wood, it is really rock hard, the lads want to go back with our small metal shovels & dig down further, as the shoreline is undeveloped private acreage property auctioned off to a Sydney guy a couple of years ago, I don’t know that they should start digging around the stumps.

Good morning everyone. Its a beautiful sunny morning here after another very cool night. I didn't achieve much yesty except cut up a lot of sticks to fit the choofer. Haven't been fishing yet.
Shirley, if those bits of what certainly looks like petrified wood are below the high water line, or even real close to it, then I reckon the boys could dig away.
Did you stay in Benalla s/g last night George?
Have you left yet Dot?
Safe travels everybody, happy hump day.
Cheers

David the stumps are about high tide level, 1st time we found the darker one it was half covered in sand, we swept the sand off to look at it, when we went back with my phone to take a photo the water was washing over same, I would think most days it would be under water at high tide, just really interesting, the boys wanted to see how far down it goes, wanted to bring it home.

Shirley, if your young men are determined to dig them out, it will be a long time before the tide goes down. Good healthy exercise for them and gives them a different thing to focus on for a while.
If you have had as much rain as our little part of the lake, it's bloody wet.

Stay safe on your adventures, those brave peoples going to Taggerty. Hope you all have a great escape.

I am still thinking about the sanity of heading off for a weekend in Maitland, where the showground is already under water and more rain has been forecast. I am trying to convince his lordship that it's just not worth the stress. Time will tell.

Good morning everyone, from a very cool Mulwala. We had an overnight frost warning, but I haven't been out to check yet. It's too cold still.
It's the MiL's birthday today, we are taking her out for brekky, as soon as they are up. In the mean time we are getting ready to head off to Taggerty for a few days.
Didn't get up to much yesty. Had a squizz at the op shops. Couldn't find what I was looking for.
Have a top day everybody. It's bin day here. The trucks just been.
Safe travels everybody.
Cheers

Good morning all from nippy Ballarat. Caught up with our youngest and her partner for dinner last night. Eldest daughter and partner will be driving up from Melbourne on Sunday for a mini family reunion. Then we wait to hear from Ballarat Autoglass that they have received the replacement windscreen for the Iveco that got damaged in road works south of Moree, and when they can fit the job in.

Once that is complete we will head to SA and hopefully catch up with a few people. Sunny day here, so washing is on the agenda.
Cheers

Morning all from chilly Mannum ... again. Got as far as the Murray Bridge OTR near the hwy, fuelled up, and the clutch decided that travelling any further was not part of its long term plan. The allowed us to camp up in the car parking spots beside the Terry White chemist there, very grateful, attempted to adjust the clutch, it sort of felt ok, but attempting to drive it required very gentle throttle application. Had another few attempts at adjusting it but what ever happened was terminal. Every truck place we rang was booked out for weeks, so coxed the thing over to SuperCheap to buy a trolley jack so I could do the job myself.
By the time I reached the road again, from the car park, forward motion was a negotiable thing, on the Mannum Rd out of Murray Bridge, a slight up hill was second gear, but got as far as 4th on a down hill section and a whole 80km/h. 5th gear was a no show, simply engine revving but the speedo dropping. By the time I reached the T intersection to turn down the hill to Mannum, even though I was still rolling, 1st gear and a crawl to the down hill part. To get it onto the slab at the workshop yard, 1st gear foot off the clutch and let it idle until it started to move, to get it up on the plastic ramps and onto the pile of wood behind them required rev, but creep forward a mtr or two and then a run up, then rev the crap out of it once it hit the ramps and that got it up there.

Found a clutch kit in Adelaide, but they were wholesalers, couldn't buy direct, AutoPro in Murray Bridge was the closest agent, but we could just pay them and head into town to pick it up, Thursday afternoon delivery to Murray Bridge, Margaret will pick it up this afternoon if it arrives, meanwhile, I'm battling with unbolting the tailshaft that appears to have had Loctite or similar applied to the bolts from the factory, 3 spanners linked together to get enough leverage to get that first bit of movement, three bolts out, but can't get enough room to get the leverage to loosen the 4th, part of the gear shift Meccano set of linkages unbolted, all Loctited, can't shift the bolt on the linkage that goes from the chassis to the gearbox coupling, the temp was dropping rapidly, so play was called off for the day and I will resume the battle today ... when it warms up a bit.
Everything carefully packed under the bed until there was no air space ... gotta come out to access the cover in the floor .... that I'm hoping doesn't have another false floor over it like the rest of the motorhome, but I can see the bolts from underneath, so if there is a false floor there, I'll have to cut it out.

Tom and Carmel decided to head home to Qld rather than hang around to see if we got going again, Carmel wasn't keen on a white knuckle drive to reach Taggerty over night, but they only travelled 100km from the planned over night stop at Woosley (near Border Town) and the power steering on the Silverado packed it in ... it had been rebuilt 6 mths ago, so they were in the hands of the roadside assist mob to either get the whole rig towed to Ballarat, or home to Qld, or stored some where, so they could fly home ..... Tom has specialist appointments on Wednesday next week, so they can't just sit and wait ....

Excitement all round, we probably won't be back in Mannum (if we actually get to leave again) for 11 weeks Swisslulu (Lesley and Eric) but we would have loved to meet up again .... Taggerty maybe? If Jon D is ok with that ......
