Good morning All from Taggerty. I arrived here yesterday after overnighting at Benalla showground on Tuesday night, only one other camper.
16* here inside the bus with overnight 4*.
I spent yesterday afternoon removing the slack fanbelt and this morning fitting another which, luckily, I had with me.

Re: Good morning daily
Gees Terry you sure didn't need a clutch problem. At least you were not to far from home.
Best of luck

Morning everyone.
I finally mowed the back yard
Another day fiddling with the motorhome...this time I assembled the anti-rattlers for the awning.
It was a windy day...and around 4ish the havens dropped almost cyclonic wind and horizontal rain...4mm in about 15 minutes...awning didn't move...admittedly it's in the shed but the shed virtually has no sides.

How did you get on Terry...did the clutch arrive ??
temp here this morning is 20* yesterday was 14* crazy weather.
Keep safe.
Bernie.

"tanks here"---
Bernie, it looks as if we are the only ones on the net this morning. I guess most of the regular posters are away having a good time on the road or waiting for Terry to fix his crutch.

Sadly it looks like the unit T1 bought is what's commonly known as as Pup.
It reminds me of the old saying
"All that glitters is not gold"
T1 might not admit it but from his postings, it looks like the previous owner got out of it just in time as so far we have reports of an almost total rebuild.

Re: Good morning daily
Tried to answer Bernie's post 3 times this morning, lost to the PHP monster each time, so headed up to start work instead.
Clutch arrived yesterday afternoon, late, got it bolted up but it was too dark, cold and beyond my staying power to get any more done.
Today, did battle with the throw-out brg retainer for over an hr, it is now in the box ready for installation if it absolutely must be attached
All back together by around 2:30, then modifying the gypsy trailer so it doesn't crunch the Prius sill rails any more than it already has, empty the work in progress black tank
more thought required to avoid a tank over fill ......
complete with puffed out cheeks, but besides a few strained diaphragm muscles, emptied it into our dump point at the workshop, packed everything back in the motorhome boots and under the bed, home for a shower and we hope to make it past Murray Bridge this time.
The apparent cause for the sudden failure, the hose from the grease nipple under the bellhousing to the brg carrier must have broken off many moons ago, but no one picked up on it. The brg carrier ran out of lubrication and has started to chew ridges into the gearbox input shaft sleeve, with no lubrication, it appears to have caught on one of the ridges and was holding the pressure plate partly in the clutch release position, allowing it to slip. The plate was down to the rivets on the fly wheel side, but still had meat on the pressure plate side, but it was badly burnt.
Plenty of grease on the input shaft sleeve and brg carrier, all new parts, fingers crossed, that demon is behind us now. I put the brg carrier in with the grease fitting facing up to the access cover in the top of the bell housing, a minor fix it job for a later date ..... hopefully
Every bolt had white loctite type compound on it, I'm guessing from the factory, they don't keep vehicles on the road for long enough to ever need a clutch replacement. This clutch lasted for 285,000 kms, not that bad for an ex passenger coach grey import, it would have lasted longer if it wasn't for the brg carrier jamming on the input shaft sleeve.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning.
Yep Terry I thought you must have been head down bum up working on the clutch.
Hopefully finished and on the road to Taggerty
Another windy day here, and like the day before rain..this time from around 2pm till 7pm.
So not much done...no furry critters or feathered on my morning walk
Most of the day spent cleaning up stuff in the shed...finding things I was looking for months ago
still more to do in the shed...more treasures to find
Yes Keith it does look as if we are the only one's up sometimes.
Keep safe.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning all, from a crispy cool Taggerty. There are 12 people here now, with a few more to arrive today.
I have found it a bit harder than usual to get a signal this year. Will post some pics later.
Safe travels everybody, have a top day.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning 16c, maximum 20c predicted, sunny cloudy sky at the moment, only a little rain maybe, it was overcast y’day but no rain until last night.
Hopefully Terry has made it to Taggerty & the weather is being kind to all attending the get together, Terry could write a book about his breakdown troubles, lucky he is able to repair most things himself.
Bernie you sound like Bruce, put things away in a safe place & forget where till you find them again
