Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Drive safely Dot. Hope the road and the bus all work happily together xxxx

This morning when I rang the showground, the news was sort of good. Because Sunday is looking like we will get a flooding rain day, they cancelled their farmers market. That leaves space for us up in the dry area.

After finishing the packing and driving for a bit over an hour, we pulled into Maitland showground in almost sunshine. There have been a couple of tiny showers and not much else. Tomorrow is set up the stall day, so we will have a late morning sleep in and then do our thing.

Fingers are crossed that the weatherman is wrong and watching for some sunny times

night all xxx

Are you there yet Dot? xxxx

Today, Maitland has not had any real rain, so fingers crossed that the weather man has had a big glitch in his systems. Has to be a man right?

Stall set up was painful. It seems like the tables get smaller every time we set up. Luckily, they gave us a big back table, so most of the plates were able to be set up on that. Lots of dealers bring larger sheets of timber to make their tables wider, I do wish that we had the space in the beast to do that. His lordship will do some investigating tomorrow on how much we would gain and if it really is worth the extra weight etc.

Great to read you made it to Taggerty Dotty, xxxx

Looks like you are all having some good rest time and fun, so get out there and enjoy yourselves

Here in Maitland, it's cold and wet...very wet. I'm sure Shirley will tell us how much rain that home has had. Not looking forward to arriving to a bogged up backyard, but it will be what ever it is. Apparently home has had more rain than here and we have had enough here. The showground is a bit of mud heap and sludge puddles are everywhere, but we are warm and dry in the van. Seems like all of our roof sealing work has finally made a good difference.

We have had the expected slow sales weekend but in the end, we had a tiny profit and a lot of quiet time.

Raining now at home Deborah & has been since early last night not heavy but constant, didn’t rain during the day y’day until late afternoon, reckon your yard will be very wet.

I was reading about the Glenreagh Timber Festival in July & was wondering if you could have a stall at that type of event :?

Welcome home Dot and friends xxxx

Shirley, you are so right. We have had just over 5 inches for the weekend and yes, it's very boggy. Thanks for the July suggestion, but we will be in Gosford Leagues club hopefully, for a crazy crystals mob event. We may get it right yet.

We woke in Maitland to find the showgrounds very muddy and deeply puddled. We still managed to hitch up and escape in reasonable time. The drive down the coast to home, was fairly uneventful, with a few showers and occasional rain. We were safely home and unpacked in time for lunch. The decision to leave the van on the street is a hard one and the rest of this week it looks like even more rain will fall. For tonight, anyway, the van is on the street and further decisions will be made eventually. As we are planning a jayco week escape from next Wednesday, I don't know if the risk of damaging the backyard is worth it. Time will tell.

Stay warm and dry,
night all xxx

''tanks" here---
It is good to hear from the gathered mob and see a few photos. It reminds me of the 'old days' when we gathered at the 40-mile beach, South of Karratha WA. That was so many years ago now.
It is now one year since I relocated to Western Australia, I flew out of Dysart on 19th May last year. Time flies as you get older.
Today is a nothing day except to go to Office Works while I am in Perth and buy a box of A-4 copy paper. I'm getting ready for Tax time and lots of printing for the TaxMan. The paper is almost half price compared with the 'up country' cost. I purchase a 5-ream carton which is about a one-year supply.
I have a Lung Specialist appointment on Wednesday at Sir Charles Gardner Hospital on the other side of Perth, and then an appointment with my Mirrabooka GP on Thursday. I plan to return to Wyalkatchem on Friday before the weekend rush of the tourist lot all rushing to Noble Falls picnic area, and York for festivals and a taste of Country Life.
Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Safe travels Dot. Home tonight? xxxx

Keith, you are doing more than I am at the moment. Keep it happening mate, you will never have a dull moment.

Great games played there Shirley, well done.

The clouds were very thick, but the rain stayed away. That was our call to get the van off the street. It takes us a fair bit of wrangling, but the van was eventually put out of sight of the street and onto the grass in the back yard. I make the comment often, that the van has the best views on our block and we still haven't ventured to sleep in it at home. I guess it is a bit more comfortable upstairs in our big bed.

Time to let the girls out for a wee break before bedtime.
Then it’s blanket time for everyone.
G’nite all. 🛌
