It’s been really cold and windy. Not conducive to sitting outside. We’ve had some light rain which hasn’t been a problem but some rest areas had received significant rain before we arrived which made us move on. Interesting how different travelling in a MH towing a car is from a 4WD and off-road caravan. Always second guessing what is suitable. It’s more than 4 years now, so I should be used to it.

Interesting comment Lesley, which one do you prefer the MH & car or 4x4 & caravan? 🤔

Enjoy the NT & travel safely.

I'll stick my bib in here Shirley, my preference is motorhome towing car... don't have a tow vehicle at the moment... but have been toying with the idea of a car trailer... haven't told Carol my thoughts yet.

We never towed a car with our MH Bernie (Coaster), we just drove it everywhere we wanted to go & made sure that we shopped before we set up camp & walked everywhere, we always liked the fact that we could stop on level ground to camp & have a cuppa as soon as the kettle boiled no setting up camp 😀 it suited me as I never liked towing our caravans when I was younger let alone as an older person when we fitted the Coaster out, so I agree with you, towing a car behind does have advantages but do you really need it.🤔

Shirley, I loved the 4WD and off-road caravan. We could go anywhere and did without much thought or preplanning. But the MH is certainly an easier setup and getaway, we just can’t do the rough roads anymore. Erich is about to turn 76 so the MH is much less physical work for him. Without our towed car, we would haven been really inconvenienced in Ballarat waiting for the windscreen. We don’t always take the car but on a long trip like this we love the convenience of it.

Bernie, interesting you are thinking of a trailer. Why did you get rid of your towed car?
