Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Sleeping again Dot? no judgements will be made on that, because if that's what you need, go for it. No , you're back. I just thought poor Norman might need to have a new girlfriend of different lineage, for a while. xxxx

Today's thrill was a gp visit. He was his usual cheerful self and gave me the scripts for high doses of lyrica and extra doses of endep. He wrote on the scripts to give me two packets initially, so that I could have one in the morning bag and another in the evening bag for the hospital visit. He also told me that I should ask to have the anesthetist put in the dose of iron before the op, so no problem with who pays the costs. I will wait for the specialist to return to work next week and then I expect she will call me, if it is a problem.

Then off to aldi to get their "cheap" wifi sim card. Well it was $229 and will last until next Christmas (2025) I am sure that if I had done some research that there would be much better plans, but that's what I was told to buy. I started out to get the thing authenticated, but couldn't figure it out. The head sparkie will help me sort it, when it's needed...he's a lovely man and is always welcomed here.

Walking all of the aisles in aldi were great, but this afternoon was a right off. Maybe tomorrow, will start back to normal. Probably not. Sparkie is coming at sparrow's to get a start on the battery installation.

Busy day Dot? xxxx

Today was up at sparrow's to be ready when the sparkies came to put the new solar battery in. They are about half way there, so tomorrow will be a rewind of today. Before they had even left the house, I received the email with all the account details and a i week to pay notice. If I worked at the speed of a snail, like the big boss there, I might pay it before Christmas. The lovely sparkie who usually does any work for us, came along today and was head of the team. If it were not for him, we would have given this company the flick. Anyway they are returning tomorrow to hopefully finish the job. Once it is completed and the battery is programmed to the way I want it to be, then I will think about paying the bill.

Deb,
Last week we had the people who installed our solar panels back to quote on fitting a battery.
I asked, since you’re here , what price a heat pump HWS to replace our 30YO electric one?
He said the heat pump would be better value for us, because the ROI on the battery would be more years to break even than we likely have left!
The heat pump will cost us under $2500 when government subsidies are included. The battery would cost us about $18,000!
So guess what we’re doing?
Regards & God bless,
Ray

We sure were lucky, we had a 215L heat pump HWS supplied and installed by Accredited Power to replace our off peak one at a total cost of $33, including removal and disposal of the off peak unit. I adjusted the timing of the heat pump unit for it to operate, if necessary, 9am - 11am and 3pm - 5pm to take full use of the solar output.

Had a 3 day sleep in, not even BOB's could keep me awake. G thinks it is great, :D It must be a weather thing, so many tired people. Shirley stay home warm and resting, bowls will be there when you are better. Hate that Lyrica to bits Deborah, very addictive indeed. Wisterias are both starting to flower along with the Crepe Myrtles & other trees and shrubs. My black lily has flowered as well as the Scottish "something "? is about to flower. Even had the sprinklers on today. Norman is still being a RR but I took all the branches out of the Avery to give him something to think about. :D Don't know if I shall make the BOB's but my boy is leading so far. Take care everyone, and goodnight x :D Goodnight Riverlander x :D

Dot, agree with you totally about the lyrica. I have a huge facial neuralgia problem that flares up whenever I am really stressed. The solar battery has pushed me over the limit on my amount of lyrica that I am taking. My GP knows how much I hate the stuff, so has given me a script for the top dose that I am taking and one for the next lowest dose, so that I can start to get off it asap. You relax about needing to relax xxxx

Yesterday was more fiddle farting with the solar battery install. They finally needed me to authenticate the aldi sim card. Well that took a while. I couldn't read the fine print and neither could he. Finally we took the time to read it more carefully and the password was needing 12 letters and suddenly, we had it all done. He inserted the sim card and the machine did what it was meant to do, but he couldn't get the fancy wifi modem to send the messages to Germany. Boy, am I glad that I asked his boss to provide that modem? If it's stuffed, not my problem.

While all that was happening, His nibs received a phone call from his brother , to say he and SIL would be dropping in for morning tea today. Many swear words later, I decided that the quickest home made morning tea would be some packet mix biscuits with extra choc chips and pecan nuts tossed in. Quick and easy peasy. Today when the arrived, I was still drinking my breakfast coffee, luckily, I had showered and dressed earlier. The biscuits were perfect and that's all that I care. After a couple of hours chat, they were off on their way.

I thought I had enough energy left to go to the chemist and do a small grocery shop. Saturday afternoons is usually a good time to shop here. All the families are off playing sport. Shopping centre had heaps of parking spots in all the good places. Well job done and I am stuffed.

Got a bit of garden work done today or should I say WE did. Grubbed up the dirt around the fruit trees, put a mix of cow, chicken poop, mushroom compost around and then a good drink of seasol. G did another hanging thing to put my hoya's on and did a bit of weeding. Boysenberry vine has started to flower and looks like the Raspberry vine isn't far behind will get a tomato plant tomorrow ? / Mighty red or something. Early start tomorrow, off to pick up my redone glasses, get the report of the test for the GP so she doesn't have to do the test herself, pick up the Perspex bus door window, and do some shopping. That should knacker me out for sure. Got the word that the block deal has gone through, the house sold after auction so settlement Oct. :D We also will be putting the bus and car up for sale next year and going to downsize. Planet America is on ABC now, worth watching. Hope all you sickies are feeling much better now. When is your op Deborah? Bed time for me so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Jon-d x :D

Dot, you have been a busy girl, well done. My knee op is Friday, next week, so a few more days to stress about it. xxxx

David, getting covid is not a good thing and your timing was definitely off. Hope the drugs make a miracle cure and you are feeling better very soon. Fingers crossed that you can make it to the funeral. Thinking of you mate.

We had to do a small shop and I wanted to do some fiddly stuff in my shed. My chauffeur drove me all the way down the yard to my shed. Left the car there and as soon as I shut the shed door, he reappeared to drive me up to the front of the house. I had told him that the stairs up and down to the back yard were stopping me from working. So the unpaid slave sorted out my problem. I had a plate in for a quick shaping. One of it's legs is all twisted about. I have never had this happen before, so it's just getting weird. I put the wonky plate from last week, back in to get flattened out again. I kept looking at it and thinking,, "no way can I put that up for sale" Tomorrow, we start the bending again....maybe, depends on how tired I am.

I just cannot believe how tired I have been. It's just been an effort to have some food available for dinner. Maybe more energy soon. At least I can sleep in tomorrow.
