What a day, left home at 0930 after the garden man (that works at Boreman's turf farm) came to look at our lawn. He said the lawn will come right , mow it down really low, they use a fertilizer known by numbers 6816. for that clover stuff. The winter grass will die off but there is another killer stuff for that. He said the frosts do a lot of damage to lawns during winter... Got to Mt Barker , G picked up the Perspex $115 compared to a new door of $1700 and the refund of the insurance we paid. I picked up my 2 new pair of glasses and the adjustments were good. Headed to Mt Pleasant to see my GP but stopped at the Birdwood OP shop :D before Dr. I had already filled in 99% of the form for my MR license for her, didn't have to do the eye test as the optician did it for me, saved the Dr doing it which gave us more time to have a chat. Now she asked if I had spoken to the rheumatologist re the yucky meds for arthritis, after reading and asking other professionals I decided it was not worth the risk as they can also restart another cancer up due to my lack of immune system, So, we agreed on me seeing a Geriatrician /Physician, everyone over 65 is eligible to see them, They are better to see than individual specialists. She gave me a couple of names but also suggested I ask my oncologist and throat man if they have any preferences. She is one fantastic Dr. So lucky to have her. The real estate man rang and all ok the block is a definite sold. It was very wild and windy today but no rain as yet. BOB's are on ,my lad is still the leader and the Jayco boys are doing ok. They say that Spain has had a long drought and that is why the olive oil price has risen. Deborah why not sell your failures as disabled plates ?  Guess what G man bought me from the op shop for $5. Answer in a day or two. Heard from HTFFBO this arvo, they are in Yarrawonga and heading this way in a couple of weeks OMG NO  Have to get some nanna nappies in. 87ks to go but I am stuffed so off to bed am I . Are you better Shirley? you and Deborah need to rest up more. Seems the old bones of a few on here are all going under the knife all within the next month or so, Deborah, Mottleemob aka Phil and Robert n Bob, pretty soon we will be able to have wheelchair races. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Margaret x :D hope your clacker has recovered. :D

Dot, you have had an adventure filled day. Did George buy a hat? Hope you find a good gerentologist. Might be what we all need. xxxx

Today I woke with the sniffles. It's spring and it's sprung so no second thoughts. Then the bloody hospital rang and demanded that I go there this Thursday for an iron infusion. I cannot go there if I have covid or flu, so his lordship will get me the latest flu/covid test. What a PITA. I am feeling much brighter after taking sinutabs, so I am pretty sure that it's not covid. They didn't help when he had covid last time.

The platter that was bent out of shape has had another flattening and is tonight being put back onto a platter mold. I don't know what I will say if the plate moves across the mold to form a weird shape again. I am sure the kiln fairies are having a go with this plate.

nighty night xxx

Evening all, Deborah when you come to think of it the Geriatrician Physician is the best over the separate specialists as they deal with the many different diseases woes etc of the older people (us) have. I rang my Oncologist today and asked his PA to ask him to give me some names but he is in Melb at a seminar and will contact me when he is back end of the week. Why can't you have the iron infusion the day of surgery?? It takes about 15 minutes and saves you a trip, can even have them done at the blood suckers rooms. No luck with what Gman bought me, try again The bus door window is now in. :D BOB's are on. Don't think I like the Spanish countryside, looks baron and untidy yards.. Might go and weed / spray my Mum and Dad tomorrow if not raining and could be lucky enough to pick up some firewood that has been blown down. Shhhhhh.. How are you doing Shirley? Hope the funeral went as well as can be expected David. When my dad died we had the best ever time after the burial, plenty of laughing, games dad loved to play, a few drinks and lots of stories and fibs. Great but sad time. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Google Bot x :D

Going to get the garden man to do the lawn for us, tired of having to look here and there for stuff, then do the work I told Gman we saved $$ by him doing the bus window so pay a pro to do the lawn. This is why I want to get rid of this house, too big for us and too much up keep does not get that he is getting older. Anyway, he went to the tip this arvo for the weekly scrounge for firewood. Also got the addendum to the blocks contract to initial (earlier settlement) AJ will witness that on Saturday. The wind is really howling now but it is a warm wind. :?: BOB's are on nice and early tonight. Really looking forward to our up coming visitors in a week or so, I see some great stories coming up with lots of laughs. Some may remember Jo and Derek and Rusty then HTFFBO (OMG) ;) Nanna nappies on order. Better scenery of Spain tonight . Glad to hear you are feeling better Shirley but do not over do things yet. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Wimmera Jack x :D

Evening all.
School bus.jpg
Found this photo in a box of pics. from going through stuff from my parents house. Pic. of myself and brother by our school bus. It amazes me that 10 kids traveled in that on the bus run. Had three timber planks, one down each side and one in the middle. Must have been a bit smelly during hot weather after school. Been fairly windy up here and keeping dry. Goodnight . Cheers John

Another day and night of strong winds. Had fush n chups for tea tonight, rather nice but by the time I had munched it for ages it was getting cold. Custard for pudding. Brian got up at 9pm tonight, he was on the bed all day. Have been watching the para games, how the hell can those swimmers swim with no arms and backwards to boot ,and the guy with no (very little) arms and legs.? fantastic stamina and attitudes. :D Hope Deborah and Shirley along with Robert n Bob are taking things easy. getting better and gathering strength for their ops. David is Covid Neg so some good news. Off to AJ tomorrow for some pain. You are right Riverlander that bus would of been a bit stinky in summer . BOB's are about to start and my boy WVA is still leader. #7 :D So take care and goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Macca x :D

Thanks for the wishes Dot,xxxx

On Wednesday I tested positive for covid. Cancelled the iron infusion and notified the surgeon's rooms. Still waiting for the surgeon to let me know if the op can go ahead or not. At this point I don't give a rats. I have felt really crook this time and am fed up with myself.
I recalled an old mate meeting me in the shopping centre on Saturday, pulled in close for a hug and pulled back saying "oh I have had a bit of a fluey bug this week" Methinks his fluey bug may have been covid and I am not real happy with him for being so irresponsible. If I think I am unwell, I stay at home and he was definitely still sniffly.
Dot, yes the iron infusion can be done at various places, but the health fund covers it as part of the op if done in the hospital. It can cost up to $600 in private places. I did ask about it happening before surgery on the day and was told that's not their usual practice
I'm totally stuffed
night all xxx
