Re: Good morning daily
Yes Dot. At least the ones I've seen are. Lots of people up here wearing masks. Not so much in the pubs and clubs though. And yes, the antivirals that we had, do have a pretty ordinary after-taste. We had Paxlovid. Can't remember the name of the other one the GP offered.
Cheers

Good morning.
I moved the van over to the shade shed and the motorhome is over where the van was, trellises are up.
Now I have to organise a cuppla neighbours for when the aircons get exchanged
...and yes Dave when it happens you will get pictures... but not today
.
Most of Tasmania has a blackout massive area...and the kids are stuck in it... they are in a cottage at Russell Falls, surprising they don't have gas to cook on for just these circumstances, even my nephew in the north of the state has no power.
There are many road closures as well...
Kid's of today don't know what fun it was on the "olden days" when it comes to going to school in a beautiful bus like yours Robert
Happy fathers day.
But...it's bacon and eggs day again.
Nothing really planned for today.
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone, happy fathers day. Beautiful sunny morning here by the lake. It's a bit windy outside and the birds are to-ing and fro-ing. It's also the first day of Spring, maybe that's why they are flapping about.
Our challenge today is to try and get the MiL to drive the car.
We will have to wait and see how that goes.
Have a great day everybody, enjoy your time with your family, if you are lucky enough to have them around you.
Safe travels all those out and about.
Enjoy your bacon and egg Bernie

Re: Good morning daily
It's bit wild down here at the moment Bernie, the Russel falls camping area is under water at the moment they say. It's still raining where I am and yesterday, the wind blew my outside weather station to bits, the recorded speed it reached before it disintegrated was 164kph. When visiting Tas it's always good to be prepared for anything, especially the weather which can change in an instant and does. The wind also destroyed the phone towers in our area so there was no phones operating for 2 days, now they are back to normal. They recorded waves of 17.5m on the west coast and Maatsuyker island recorded a wind speed of 187kph, just a slight breeze.BernieQ2 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 5:11 am Good morning.

I'm stuck inside and for once our area didn't lose power unless it was for a short time which I didn't notice when it's normally one of the first, but many other areas have lost power and for some it will be days before it's restored. My wind generator keeps feathering, but is providing enough power for the house and the wind has finally dropped off a bit. The workshop and tractor shed lost some of their roof, luckily nothing has been effected and put an open top 200lt drum under the hole until can fix it in the workshop and the tractor shed will just have to wait, but so far not effecting the tractors.
Now have got enough wood for the next few years as a number of trees have come down on my place and lots of branches lying around, will cut them up and let them sit for the next year or 2 to dry out. A really big one has dropped across my driveway and as soon as the rain stops, will cut that up so can get round it, charging the chainsaw batteries at the moment.

Re: Good morning daily
I've been charging the Ozito 20v batteries and the Black & Decker 18v batteries, direct from a nom. 12v solar panel ..... works great, the last few % is down to a trickle charge so the internal balancing gets all the cells up to fully charged without any going over voltage and getting hot ..... that is the method just about all the tool battery chargers use, a thermistor to signal over temp and that stops the charging.
I thought your house would have been full of grid NP, you wouldn't know if the grid power was on or off, Brian (Homeless) often boasted about that to other boat owners in the marina that ask if his power was back on ......

Nigel reckons Tassy is going to be horrible weather wise. Better let them know. Mainly windy. Same for Vic and SA. .... Windy enough to blow a Japanese Beach scene off a canvas.

Re: Good morning daily
Going by the reports I've seen on TV today, good ol' Nigel nailed it. Would have blown the the milk out of your tea, then washed in down the river. I'm certainly glad I'm not any further south than I am right now.
Cheers
