Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

supersparky wrote: Thu Sep 19, 2024 10:36 am I've already got a lot of Ryobi 18v garden stuff. Even have a chainsaw. Have never been overly impressed with the chainsaw though. When I mentioned to SWMBO, that I was getting a carby, she said why don't I get a whole new saw.
I am going to have a proper look at the Stihl units.
Blazeaid have been using them for a few years now. It would suit me to not carry a container of two stroke fuel, everywhere we go.
I've got 2 makita 18v chainsaws, 14 and 16inch and looking at getting a 40v 18inch makita and my 3 Husqvarna 14-16-21inch petrol saws sit in the workshop and have for the last few years. The Makita are wonderful and do a top job of dropping and cutting up trees, I can cut through trunks twice the size of the saws without any problems. The only problems that have come up are the 9amp ebay batteries I've got, a couple have died and 4 only provided half the power, but the original 5amp makita's I have still function at 100% as do the other 9amp ebay ones. Just waiting for a good battery brush cutter to come along, the battery whipper snippers just can't do the job of slashing bracken and small bushes and brush cutters don't drop pieces of plastic everywhere as I use metal blades. But my Husqvarna 4 stroke brush cutter does a great job and uses very little fuel, just can't stand the noise after using battery equipment.

Got the Makita because that's what all my battery tools are and the batteries fit them all. Plus ebay batteries are 1/3 of the price and do a good job, but you can get some lemons and they do provide a 10 year warranty if you can get it. I also use ebay blades and chains, again less than half the price of genuine makita.

Finally got the parts for my centrifuge, the motor controller packed it in after more than 15 years and have had no end of trouble getting one to suit and being able to work out how to program them for 6000rpm, so bit the bullet and got one from the centrifuge manufacturer who provided a step by step parameter programming solution, which luckily works on the Aus motor controller I bought at half the price of the yank job. So no more shopping bag filtering and back to easy fuel making.

Another wet day here, which started out as a sunny and warm, but temps dropped from 15 to 9 about an hour ago and we've had SW winds around 65kph and rain. So no bike riding or surfing again today, we just had a 78kph gust according to the new weather station.
Just like the old saying, nothing beats cubic inches for pure grunt, nothing beats voltage when it comes to three phase electric motors with a VFD inverter driving it. Brushed DC motor are part of the last century technology, induction motors powered by DC batteries it todays tech ......

Good morning everyone.
I had a little sleep in 🌝
I finally finished the first of the raised bed and planted with tomato and lettuce... sofar..
We have a fog again this morning and it was a warm night..
I have on good authority that the spaces for the aircon will be here today... we'll see... not happy with Dometic's public relations 😡😡
I might finally get to the mowing today... but I have said that before.
Dot, Carol now has all the "stuff"
That is required for her op...
But if it goes through to January she will need to go through the pre admission again...apparently ..
Use by stuff I suppose..
Keep safe everyone.
Bernie.

Morning all heading in to SA Heart at Flinders Private this morning, gas man wants a stress test and EGC done. As I can not do the tread mill test its the old needle to increase the heart rate. They are certainly not taking ant chances this time.

Ordered a new printer from Amazon and was suppose to be here last night, first time I have had a delivery from them which has not been on time. Also the first time delivery from Toll who are useless. Checked tracking and still not out for delivery and no txt so no leaving at wrong address.

Best to every one else waiting for their operation cheers Robert

Another windy day, went shopping and got asked by the cashier lady at the local veggie store in Sorell whether all the fruit and veggies I buy each week are for me alone, had to reassure her I'm buying for a couple of neighbours and 5 dogs as well. She then asked why I don't buy other things and had to be honest and tell her, don't eat processed or junk food, like my health to much. That left her stumped, but a smile made her relax. Can't see why anyone would question someone who wants to eat healthy and not get sick or have their body break down and the associated pain and suffering that goes with it. Also amazes me how they make fun and joke about healthy eaters, then try to belittle those sensible enough to look after themselves, but that's life and the jokes really on them sadly.

No rain so checked out some surf spots, got a small wave at eagle hawk neck, but it kept closing out, the other spots were blown out by the wind. It was a nice little practise to get me back into it again and have to admit was buggered after about 40 minutes, plus water not that warm. It took me quite a while to get out of this modern wet suit and at one stage thought I'd be getting a knife out of the tool box to cut my way out. However finally found a way and got out, now I know how to get them off fast and looking forward to the next exhilarating surf, the water was like ice but enjoying myself to much to stop until my arms started to ache from paddling.

Now have to cut wood before the rain arrives for the weekend and then fit the pannier brackets I've made for the VTX, much cheaper than buying them. Spoke to soon, there's rain drops appearing on the front windows, can't hear the rain, the earth roof deadens any sound the double glazing does the same, which means my home is warm cosy and silent until music happens or the TV goes on. The dogs like the quiet and when I put the TV on, they exit the room, but not when musics happening or playing.

Hope everyone's day goes as well as mine has so far, cutting wood in the rain and wind will soon change that, just waiting for some batteries to charge up.

Its a long walk to eagle hawk neck from your place.
