Well I can't cheat because I did hear from Margaret!!
How many watts does the cpap machine say it draws on the label Terry?
I'll have a look later. We experienced how the other half live last night, batteries died very early in the night and even though we ran the engine a number of times, they were so slow to recharge they didn't get much in them each time ....... my hearing aids plugged into a USB port, no inverter, was still too much for them to last the long enough for the sun to get on the panels ...... I'll try taking the 12 yr old lithium battery that acts as the 12v battery for the Prius and try that tonight to see how it goes ....

We made it to the Warri Camp Grounds just past Braidwood yesterday evening, before the sun went down even, a new record for us :D
As long as I keep it between 2,000 and 3,000 rpm and drive auto like it's a manual, it seems to ok, just avoid loading the engine because the miss even makes the steering wheel shake up and down, but apart from that, it ran well ..... filling the fuel tanks (petrol and LPG) all up cost was about the same as filling the diesel tank, so we will see how many kms we get out of the pair ....

Made it to Wagga on this leg of the trip and check in at a caravan park to plug into power  Wasted over half a tank of LPG having the engine idling to supply 12v power, around $100 worth, $45 for a night on power is bargain compared to that  Put 211ltrs in the 2 gas tanks in Wagga, using the 80% fill for the calculations, they must be 130 ltr tanks .... strange size, will see how far it drives on that till it runs out to get an idea what the fuel economy of a V10 running on 8 cyls at the best calculates out at using LPG for fuel.

Terry,
I assume you’re anxious to get home — or where home used to be — asap, so I guess a detour through Rutherglen is off the agenda.
If I’m wrong, you’re welcome to drop by.
Next Friday we’re going to Melbourne for Son-&-Heir’s 45th birthday (😳 is he THAT OLD?). Back Sunday.
Other than that we’re home to boil the billy anytime (and take a sticky at your new bus!).
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Why wouldn't you run the genny rather than finishing off the V10? I don't understand?
I'd think the genny would be auto connected to at least a 50A 12v battery charger?
On caravan park power did the 12v batteries get charged up?

Shortest rout back to Mannum Ray, not gunna push our luck too far .... each km is one closer to Mannum so I can determine what the next step will be ...... I'm guessing that will depend on just what I find when I strip the motor down.

Ummmm....... it was cold outside, no idea how noisy the generator is or if it even runs ..... there is a remote start inside ..... but .... the ignition key was closer  Margaret was up at sparrow fart as usual, I wasn't getting up to see if I could get the generator running ..... it was freezing the other side of the blankets ....... idling for 6 hrs probably wasn't the best plan ..... but hey, it's still running

Made it to Hay by around 3pm, did reasonable against the ever changing wind direction, the trucks weren't doing any better. It would hold overdrive @ 2600rpm and 100km/h for about 5 kms, then drop back to 3rd, rpm would jump to 4,000 for maybe 30 seconds ... seemed to clear it out a bit and it would drop back into over drive for another 5 kms, then repeat :? If I dropped back to 95km/h, it would do the same thing every 10 kms and hold 2,500rpm, seemed to need the wind out to clear it out or something. I tried turning the cruise control off and just driving it on the throttle, but it would gradually drop back until it was only doing 80km/h, then kick back and do the same thing but changing up at 3,000rpm, so I ended just running on the cruise control and varying between 95 and 100km/h, depending on wind direction ... much over 100km/h and the lock up converter kicks in and the vibration from the engine miss shakes the whole rig, the same thing in 3rd gear between 60 and 80km/h .... without the converter locked up, the fluid coupling seemed to smooth out the miss a lot ...... just not particularly fuel efficient though .... can't win them all eh

Couldn't get the levelling jacks to work after they seemed to work find back in the Illawarra .... as we were here early, after a beer or two, decided to go searching for a fuse .... found lots of them, but no description of what any of them did .... look in the owners manual .... yeah, right, nothing in any of them, the levelling jacks aren't even mentioned. Bugger it, pull the 3 sections of the dash out to trace the wiring  It goes everywhere, and all in that split conduit rubbish .... Google ..... first link mentioned the park brake applied  Apply the park brake .... bingo ... it all works again ..... I'll put the dash back together again tomorrow

Hmmm..... that would have made a good headline when the house burnt down " Three 'life savers' burnt to ashes in Mannum House fire" I'm guessing this one will end up in a shed or container once we get home as well, not a generator type person Dottie, no matter how flash they are .... might see about putting it on the market, the Honda 3.0i would have fetched a good $$, maybe this Onan will too ...... Gotta be better than burning them ;)

But would of kept you and esp Margaret warm, if it worked. Will you be home before the house block is cleared? Do the work on the MH at the shed site, at least it is flat ground and from what you say it most likely couldn't get up your driveway., sort of like dragging skin of a cold custard    Margaret is now your work supervisor.
