37 degrees here yesterday Dave.supersparky wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 7:59 am Good morning everyone. It turned out rather warm and sticky yesty arvo. Was a good day to be inside.
We had lunch with the family, then we went to the pub. Terrie had a top day. I met an old workmate and caught up on all the goss.
Today is forecast to be 33⁰, with a chance of a storm. Haven't had a drop of rain yet, so we'll see.
I might have a bit more of a go at the tree out the back, until it gets to sticky, or not.
Have a top day everybody, stay cool and dry if you can.
Take care all those out and about.
Good morning daily

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning 16c, unbelievable change in weather, grey sky, totally overcast, not a ray of sunshine, 55% chance of rain, only predicted to reach 19c, not a boat to be seen on the lake.
Bernie 37c is to hot & it’s only Spring
My pennants team are in the playoff today at Ettalong, they haven’t lost a game this year, fingers crossed it doesn’t rain until the predicted 3pm & they win.

Re: Good morning daily
A top day here in upper Mannum at the moment, blue sky and not too warm, but I'm guessing it will warm up as the day progresses.
Margaret's foot gave her hell last night, didn't get to bed until around 4 am, so don't know if we will be going washing machine shopping today or not ......
Hopefully my knees have forgiven me for the repeated days of torture, and I can get back into sorting this engine. I might try removing the check valve out of the no:1 inlet hydraulic lifter to allow it to slam shut against the seat to see if that cleans the faces to allow it to seal.
The problem seems to be, the added clearance at the valve stem allows the hydraulic lifter to pump up too far, the valve springs they use in the more modern engines aren't strong enough on the that closing bit to bleed down the lifter if it pumps up too much, so the stuck hydraulic symptom remains, not allowing the valve to fully close.

Could be, but I'd be really p*ssed if I pulled the heads off and that was all the problem was

Good afternoon, the Gwando team won the Central Coast Ladies 4s Championship by one point, only takes one, feeling very Happy for them all, we have been runner ups the last 2 years.

True, but you'd only be pulling one off and then the other if the first one was bad.
That's not good Shirley. As Max would say, "missed it by that much". Good luck for next year.

Re: Good morning daily
Terry, you could try putting an airline into the plug hole and tapping on the valve stem.
Just make sure the exhaust is open so the crank won't turn. Or bolt the cam back down, then it won't matter if it spins.
That's assuming that you have access to a compressor.

Re: Good morning daily
Jon, they won by 1 point, I pulled out of the team when I had viral pneumonia, it grounded me for several weeks so made the correct decision.
