Re: Good morning daily
About as far as I've got in the plumbing dept is emptying the black and grey water, clever design with the big single hose, pull the slide gate for the black ...... let hose stop having convulsions, then open the grey water slide to flush the hose out. It has one of those cam lock connections, I think I'll need one of these to empty them if I find one of those high mounted or up hill mounted dump points https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/35528817796 ... YQQAvD_BwE then I'll need a different hose for the pump outlet, think I still have around 10 mtrs of 3/4" hose and there is a pump fed garden connection hose there already connected to the grey tank to do that last flush .....supersparky wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 3:41 pm You're lucky that you have access to the plumbing in your bus. I reckon the bloke that did your fit-out musta been a bit smarter than than the engineers?? at the old Winnebago factory (now Avida). Next time I'm looking at you I'll show you what I mean. Everything is put together like pre-assembled modules. Probably makes construction easier, but it sucks from a maintenance point of view.
Apart from that, just filling the front and rear water tanks and the rubber plunger on the shower/bath drain ..... I'm not looking forward to trying to find the water pumps, there are 3 switches so I'm guessing I'll be searching for 3 pumps at some stage ..... I know one of them is in the bathroom vanity cupboard beside the toilet, that makes itself known while seated on the throne .... no idea where the others are

T1, that'll give ya something to do, while you're waiting for parts to arrive to complete your motor repairs.
We only have one pump, which is down the back, near the fill point. Obviously you have a black and a grey tank.
Did any of the vac loo arrangement from the Hino survive the fire? If yes, I'd be kinda interested in assisting you in creating a bit of extra space, if you want it gone.
You probably haven't owned the Winny long enough to have had any plumbing issues, yet. But I would suggest that you get some red and blue 10mm hose and a bunch of John Guest fittings. You can thank me later.
and of course, those little red circlip looking thingos and the little brass inserts that the factory should have used, but somehow forgot.

Dave, correct. Everything I did on the bus was with the thought that one day, I'll have to remove it or work on it.
The only thing that will never come out intact is the shower box.
Even removing the engine and gearbox; it's a slip in. Just need 5 days to slowly unscrew all the bits and drag it out.

Much experience with John Guest fittings, always in an almost impossible to get to position in site crane hydraulics cradle with all the pipes over the top. Had a bit of experience with the John Guest fittings in the Fuso as well .... it looked a bit like the board game "Rat Trap" with multiple pipe joints from a single fitting with maybe an inch of pipe and another mess of pipe joints .... naturally, all up between the floor and the top of the grey water tank or in the tunnel that was just big enough to put the awning bits in, certainly not big enough to get my shoulders in so I could use both arms .... and of course, just a touch was enough to make everyone of them leak.supersparky wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 8:05 pm T1, that'll give ya something to do, while you're waiting for parts to arrive to complete your motor repairs.![]()

As I find failed John Guest fittings, I will be replacing them with PEX "Sharkbite" mustard coloured hose and push connect fittings .... never had one blow out or leak .... certainly can't say the same thing about John Guest stuff

Good morning everyone.
We had a great day with the kids and meal at the Tavern
Our son and two of his sons along with Olivia was a good catch-up...
I only got to see the first 15 minutes of the Bathurst race
. It was over when we got back home
..
We picked up one of those raised dunny seats for Carol as per hospital suggestion, it's a loaner
while in maryborough...
And just for today...we are having a bacon and eggs Monday

Nothing planned for today yet.
Carol will be off to bingo...
Keep safe.
Bernie.

yeah, good luck with that! Different sizes to begin with. But then again, you could shave it down like the valve stems. Any update on the engine? As I find failed John Guest fittings, I will be replacing them with PEX "Sharkbite" mustard coloured hose and push connect fittings .... never had one blow out or leak .... certainly can't say the same thing about John Guest stuff

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone. Today is a repeat of yesty. Full overcast but hi UV with lots of sunglare.
Didn't get up to much except watch Bathurst and put stuff back in the Winny. I think that Supercars have effectively neutered themselves. Most of the cars finished on the lead lap. And it looked like they were all going to finish for most of the race. I hope Toyota coming into it can make it a bit more interesting.
Just been to the GP and had the second shingles shot, have to go back next week for a biopsy.
Safe travels everybody, I hope your day goes well.

Re: Good morning daily
Yes I agree David .... I have pretty much lost interest....
I first went to Bathurst in 1969 and thru to 1996 attended 20 races....
The bias towards one manufacturer is still obvious to me ....so don't expect the powers that be will let Toyota be too competive.
Was great to see the Erebus team win, and so well deserved by their drivers.
Cheers
