Apparently not Jon. Unless you stand in the immediate vicinity for an extended period of time without moving.
Cheers

I think most of those wireless frequency transmitters are in the 2.4GHz range. Don't think even Raygun can move that quick.

T1,
RACV newsletter recently announced that they are cooperating with an outback local council to trial this technology along the Stuart Highway so EVs can make it to Alice Springs…
Although why anyone would want to go there atm is beyond me.

Re: What's new in the EV market for this year
No plans for the Great Central Road yet? It's a start at least
I wonder if the plan is to make an electric highway to Darwin ...... The AEVA now has an NT branch rather than being part of the SA branch and they have some very politically active members .... my guess is they are involved with this new network with the aim to make an electric hwy to every major city ..... a few of the ones across the Ceduna to Norseman stretch are powered by chip fryer oil as a stop gap measure while the solar infrastructure is built with the aim to power the local community as well to make the diesel fuelled generators redundant ....

I wouldn't believe everything you are told Terry.
35 years ago all of those stops across there had big generators thumping away.
I know a few friends that tried the fried chip oil. Not sure if the modern society want to go back to the Flintstone days.
Most can't exist without a smart phone now days.

Re: What's new in the EV market for this year
The big EV stations have solar feeding into the battery bank and a big inverter to supply those that need AC charging, the DC charging is direct (sort of) battery to battery. All this is backed up by a genset running on chip fryer oil. The ones that haven't reached that stage yet just use the chip fryer oil powered generator to power the EV charger. If I remember on Wednesday night, I'll get the link to the AEVA site where they document this role out with video showing each system operating.BruceS wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 8:56 pm I wouldn't believe everything you are told Terry.

Back in the days when diesel was cheap, no one really thought twice about it, but even tax free diesel is expensive out that way now because of the added freight costs, that isn't tax free diesel. The trucks delivering the fresh chip fryer oil actually run on the recycled oil and rather than cart the used stuff away from these all in one station sites, they collect it in bulk containers and do the whole processing there on site, carting the processed stuff to the sites that rely heavily on the chip fryer oil for fuel

Re: What's new in the EV market for this year
I know it's an old thread, but I stumbled across this on a link to another EV on another forum
https://amazingev.com.au/listings/adven ... campervan/
It's a fitted out EV campervan, perfect for those that don't travel very far each day, could be the perfect caravan park jumper .... free fuel at a powered site
