Dot, can you find a friend who does a bit more flying than we do, to get you over the booking tickets hurdle? It's over 20 years since we have been in a plane, imagine how stuffed we would be trying to book tickets and understand the luggage stuff. Go get those tickets girl. xxxx
It's been flamin hot here. Yesterday we loaded up the truck with the business and the drove to Gosford and unloaded the flamin lot. Quite a few of the boxes/crates didn't really need to go, so I will have to do a full check soon and do some serious culling of what we need to take and when. Maybe even put labels on boxes, like Christmas only for December. Nobody would want to buy Christmas stuff now, surely.
All we had to do today, was get out of bed early and get to Gosford with a smile on our faces. Then sit and play games, serve the occasional customer and go back to the phone. It was a stinker outside, but by mid afternoon the air con was so cold that I was shivering..gggrrrr. I have already packed a warmer shirt for the pm if needed. Once we finish trading, as usual, it's a quick pack up and get out of there. We certainly earn whatever crumbs we can get from this time of the year.
sleep tight you lot xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Think we have got tickets etc sorted out ?? G's son and his "friend" are coming from Brisb for 4 days so to pay their way they will have to sort the air fares / times out, sort the phones out, do the cars blue tooth thingy, sort the tv out and maybe have a go at this machine. In return they get picked up from the airport, bnb for 4 days and the use of the little suzuki . Think I have got the Brian sitter sorted out. My other kiwi M8 (old baby sitter) said he will arrange transport from the airport to other M8's place rather than a taxi. I ventured outside once today to splash some water around the pot plants and that was it for me. Going to be another stinker tomorrow. The temp is the same inside as it is outside so I have opened the windows up to get the place cooled down a bit. Some dick head was either letting off crackers or was shooting at 3am sending the birds into a panic. There are some real wankers around the place. Good luck with the sales Deborah, might pay to get a misting fan while you are sitting waiting for the big spenders, our galahs like their fan when temp is so high. Bloody nothing on TV apart from repeats after repeats. I wonder if Terry did manage to get away? what's the odds? Off to bed now so goodnight everyone x

You couldn't wash/shower if your tank water was that hot.
Might need to install some underground tanks.
The world is going to be an "interesting" place in a few years time.
Might need to install some underground tanks.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
2021h 24.7 prediction tomorrow 31c, wow Ray sure been hot down your way.
Our sky looks like we could get a shower of rain, none predicted.
We still have 8 boats staying the night over yonder, all tucked in along the shoreline.
Watching the end of the United Cup, looking like USA might win it, I use to play tennis 3 days a week, I use to call the bowls balls when I started bowling
always enjoy watching it on TV.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
The tank water in the Winnie was hot enough to have a cold water only shower, and that was only because I'd filled it up before we left Mannum. Tonight, it is hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold the hand under and certainly undrinkable hot, so the bottles are filled and go in the freezer for an hr to make them cool enough to drink as a refreshment rather than just dropping a tea bag in

In the last 1/2 hr, the temp has dropped like a rock and we had a Mannum style rain storm, all 45 or 50 drops of it .... hopefully it will be cool enough to sleep tonight without the air con vents directed over the upper body, pillow still ends up wet and can't be turned over or around enough times to make sleeping on it comfortable ...... the towel is a tad rough on the ears though

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Well done Terry, but did you get away on time?? Congrats you got there and the job done Has Margaret had a drive of the MH yet? We went around to AJ's place for a friendly get together of nibbles and a few drinks. It was a really nice day for outside activities, not hot at all and tomorrow is going to be around 24 degs. Brian sitter finally locked her dates in so now it is find and book the flights. Gone are the days when all you did was go on line for all airlines, fares times etc now you have to pay extra for card use, a meal, size of luggage, can't choose the Pref seat, Things have certainly changed. Good one Shirley practice, practice, practice, and we shall have our champion bowler. Peaches all gone for this year, the plums are nearly finished but the apples have a way to go. Tomatoes starting.
Just had a few rain drops but dried before it hit the ground but it looks like it may rain throughout the night. We have our water tank underground and even that gets warm . Early to bed tonight ready for early start in the morning. Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Margaret can't even think about driving the motorhome until her right foot problems are sorted ..... it's been ongoing since the end of 2022 really, it gave here problems on the Germany visit to her daughters wedding and has steadily got worse, even though the ulcer site looks to be healing up ..... the nerve attacks are getting worse and the tendon problem has been virtually put on the back burner until the deep seated infection in the heal is sorted.
It has been tested for so many things, and all of them have come back negative, the have even done MRI studies of the area to see if it has attacked the bone ..... but I'm told that is a negative as well ..... so ..... who knows from here, it might just suddenly sort itself like the 3rd of the toe problems once all the stess from the fights with NRMA have ended and we can sort out just what is going to happen regarding the house ..... We can't even get it demolished at the moment, still waiting for asbestos testing results .... to actually be shared with us, NRMA had to pay for the specialist testing, so they own the results it seems
Now I have to find a surveyor who is up to speed to do a boundary marking where there appears to be no official boundaries marked ...... the SA Surveyor General's dept won't even back their own records ...... seem it was one of those "back of a beer coaster" subdivisions in exchange for losing his river front paddocks to the Murray River Authority when the artificially held the river height high after the '56 floods, that is the "lagoon" the other side of the road from the house.
Just to muddy the waters even further, the land behind the house is all part of that ex farm, and the person who has bought it now, has had surveyors out marking his property boundaries, if the one at the back on the Mannum side of the block is correct, the "Teenage Retreat" and the water tanks are not on our property
The stone wall at the back of the rear patio would seem to be our property boundary ...... That means the now virtually dead fruit trees and the cat cage and back fence isn't on our property at all ..... and there is every chance part of the front yard is actually over the boundary lines towards the road as well ..... if they do put this footpath they are now on about through there, they will put it on the house side of the road, not the river side, to avoid any future floods washing it away like the one just a yr of so back ...... There must be some sort of limit on the payback for running over a Chinaman in a past life .... I'm hoping there is anyway .....
