Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Well that sucks. Can you shift a bit of stuff around and make a suitable area down Purnong Rd and move back there for a while.

T-1, Can you live there as a "CARETAKER" for the property.

I reckon somebody has complained to council, they don’t drive around looking for situations like this, at least they’ve given you a couple of months. 😥

The council have been great really, we always knew we couldn't live on the property because of the zoning and I believe that includes caretakers etc. The block on Purnong Rd is still in the midst of a battle with NRMA, the latest swifty stems around the company they have engaged to do the demolition, have sent us a contract to sign, with clauses about possible additional charges etc ...... we are in the process of telling said company that the contract for demolition is not with us, but with NRMA .......

This is where it gets interesting, every part of the inspection, safety fence, fibro testing, rebuilding costing etc etc .... all boil down to the same company. If Had the inclination, I could probably link it all back to NRMA themselves.

As soon as any outside contractors get wind of NRMA being involved .... either we here nothing back from them, or it's not in their work area, field of works ... pick an excuse to back out, none of them want to do any work for NRMA these days ..... after my dealings with them, both business wise and on a personal level, I can't fault them for it, they are not good people to deal with at all ......

We can't move the motorhome to the Purnong Rd address, because of the usual thing about living in a non permanent dwelling, it must have a permanent dwelling either already established or in the process of being built.

We haven't reached the point of getting the block cleared yet, once that is achieved, a min of a 2 yr backlog before any building mob can look at putting plans into council to start the whole rebuilding process .......

We have a few options and we will spend the next week or so weighing them up and seeing which will work the best for us .......

At the moment, 2025 isn't looking any better than 2024 or 2023 did .... only now, we are both part of the walking wounded parade that seems to make up the majority of the senior citizens around these parts .....

I'm thinking it is either NRMA or someone who wants to buy the block attempting to apply pressure and see what happens.
Margaret would just cave in, I'm more likely to bust heads, the next couple of mths will be interesting ......

Maybe Shirley but I know some years ago the council down at Kingston SE SA clamped down when a lot of folks from inland bought up blocks & parked old caravans on their land to use as a holiday shack.
Even tho it was residential land it was still outlawed.
I do see that there may be a problem in some places if there is no water supply and no sewage connection but Terry has both of those. I wonder if he applies to have it changed to residential?
Some councils will allow caravans IF there is a house building application being processed.
Real can of worms because once you make enquiries, you awaken the bear!!

Maybe it's time to get Marg's foot/feet as right as you can and do a bit of travelling. Then come back, do a bit of work at the yard then head off again. And repeat.

Yes. Trying to fight time doesn't work. It's coming up to 2 years since the shed fire. And, how much retirement has been achieved?

Maybe, get the house block cleared. Get rid of the junkers and sell the 2 cleared blocks. Cash up and travel.
Find a small established place needing no work in a big town as a base to park up when not traveling. ....

If I didn't know any better, you sounded pretty happy when traveling in the Mistu' with no set plans.....
