Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

If I can pick up a trailer at one of the auctions, I think that might be the better option just on a time basis ..
Any project has three basic variables.

Cost, Time and Scope. For the cost of a trailer, you can probably get a few taxi rides.

You haven't spent much time in country towns Jon, taxi rides are a city thing ;) I'd imagine the taxi ride to Sydney and back to Barrack Hts for 3 days to attend the All Electric show would cost more than the trailer

Well, maybe, grab an uber then.
If the country town is that small, walk or ride a bike.

Everything must be bigger den where Bernie shops. Geez, he can't even get brake cleaner.

Seriously, you're not thinking about driving about 2 hours each way from Barracks Heights to Sydney Olympic Park for 3 days?

Unless there is a train from Oak Flats station direct to Olympic Park, then yes, I'll drive. Drove further than that each day to work at Favco Favelle https://www.favellefavco.com/ while doing 14 hr to 16 hr shifts 13 day fortnights ......

I drove to where Olympic Park is now, it was Homebush Abattoirs back then, and I worked for RoadMaster Haulage that was on the river side of the abattoirs. 6 days a week, 12 hr shifts sometimes .....

T1 Terry

EDIT: Just did a Google search, 3 trains and the quickest is 2hrs 38 mins ...... faster and easier to drive, keep in mind, Margaret can't walk without crutches, so riding a train would be a nightmare trying to change from platform to platform, can you imagine trying to avoid bumping her foot while jostling with that many people to get on/off the train, in/out of lifts and across walkways between platforms .... not gunna happen

Rutherglen (pop: 2500) has NO local public transport.
One bus runs to Corowa in the mid-morning, with a return bus after close of business. Very handy if you have a medical appointment at 0830~0900 and want to go home at 0930!
Nor does it have a locally based taxi. (Or Uber)
(Note the singular.)
Nearest taxi is in Corowa, 14km away.
We DO have a taxi parking spot. Never used.

Would you believe, it is still around 38*C, now raining with a scattered hail ..... in upper Mannum of all places
Rutherglen sounds a bit like Mannum, but the taxi is 40kms away .... certainly no Uber, most of the population is either too old or has/have lost their licence drink drive so they can't be an Uber driver ..... the other 2 people don't want the others throwing up in the back of their car ..... The only govt paid transport comes with an accommodation package, back of the paddy wagon and into the cells

Well, there are some business opportunities. sheeeshhhh

Uber, Grocery pick up service, dial-a-dash. ... and the local taxi and local moonshiner
All on the one phone number. Bernie, you could have a monopoly on the Degilbo delivery service. Ideas man!

Morning all.
We had a few drops of rain yesterday...55 mil...in the gauge 🤗🤗😁
I done the phone around yesterday chasing the elusive seals... couldn't find any up our end of the planet 😡
So I took Vic's advice and rang Brett's truck parts, and I have two coming in the mail 👍👍👍. thanks Vic..
I guess I will have to watch the grass grow till they arrive
Clear skies Here at the moment...
Another job still awaiting is to change the diesel heater tank.... may look at that... maybe 🤔
Carol had a win...
Keep safe.
Bernie.
