Ok brains trust...
My motorhome is 24v...it has a 24 to 12. Reducer so the trailer has 12v for its electrics. I will be changing all the lights to LEDs. It has bulbs at the moment.
Now the trailer has electric brakes, but I don't have one of those brake adjustable thingys on the dash as most towing cars have...
Is there a easy way around this... maybe change to override brakes...or other suggestions
I'm in your hands.
Bernie.

Re: My car trailer.
Hi Bob... thanks.
But the cable would have to be run under the motorhome sounds simple...but almost an impossible thing, there is nowhere to run anything because of what's underneath.
I would have to remove the two water tank's for a start and not a easy job... I have been there... and don't want to go there again i seen a plug and play thingy for sale recently ...does anyone know of such a thing.

Re: My car trailer.
Bernie,
it might not be as hard as your think. Mount the controller down the back, run the knob thing through the cabin.

No room through the cabin Jon...remember I didnt build this motorhome...its not user friendly.jon_d wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 8:14 am Bernie,

Re: My car trailer.
The other thought Ive had is just mount the controler in the rear with the engine,,,set once and forget..How often do people ajust these things...I never with the Jeep and caravan.

Re: My car trailer.
I have relo's that have fitted the inline brake controllers like that picture Bernie.
My daughter fitted one to her camper trailer too. You just level the trailer, mount the controller to the trailer so it is level, plug the trailer into the provided socket on the brake unit and then when the trailer is attached to the towing vehicle plug the controller cable into the vehicles socket.
It's called an Elecbrake and they have acouple of different units, some can be controlled by an app on your phone.
They work with 24v.
You can buy trailer lights that are multivolt typically 9v to 24 or 32v for most of them.

Re: My car trailer.
Dunno about the brake controller Bernie, but all the new LED lights are good for 10v -32v. Some of them need a resistor on the indicators to get them to flash properly. The little square ones on our Tilta don't though.
Cheers
