Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Had quite an adventure today, this would be a good point to move onto another post if you don't want to read about it ;)

Trip to take Margaret to Flinders Hospital was fairly uneventful, dropped her off at the door and then drove to the closest Bunning to get heavier 3 core flex, the "Heavy Duty 15 amp Caravan 10 mtr cable" has burnt inside the plug both ends and welded into the receptacles

Pulled up in a parking spot, got out to move a trolley ..... can't select drive or reverse, security key can not be detected .... My golly gosh or words similar were used, but fortunately I hadn't turned the car off .... later discovered I couldn't anyway, rang Margaret and arranged that she would catch a cab from the hospital to Bunnings so her security tag would get things sorted ......

Went and did the required shopping, phone call, they are keeping Margaret in for a few days .... the odd F word might have slipped out at this point ...... try to lock up the car using the button in the door handle ..... no go, put the drives window down, make sure I had all I needed out of the car, shut the door, reached in and pressed the door lock button, then pressed the window close button and got the arm out quick smart ..... the car is now locked with the air con running .... hail a cab .... can't take the dog ..... a few more F words and start walking.

It's a warm bright sunny day, we get about 2 blocks and the dog is looking like he is not enjoying the walk as much as he thought he would ......

Walk past an op shop, they have a new looking kids pram with a bassinette looking thing on it, $15, try to load the dog into this zip up thing .... not having a bar of that, already overheating, remove the bassinette thing off the top and there is the basic stroller under it. Hand the top part to the young lady in the shop .... a number of attempts to get the dog to stay in the pram and he finally got the idea that life was easier being wheeled in the pram.

Google maps says it's 3 kms to the hospital, no drama, get to the bridge and spot a young lady with a bag of books heading up a dirt/gravel track .... must be a shortcut to the Flinders Uni me thinks ..... so off we go following the track.
It's steep going and I lose sight after maybe a km, check google maps, it doesn't have a clue where I am but it looks like there is a bridge coming up over the freeway and major hwy that runs sort of parallel ...... about another 2 kms and I'm thinking this isn't much of a short cut, but the bridge is still showing on Google maps, then it gets real steep ..... I get to the top and look around for this bridge ..... it's about 5 kms in the opposite direction     but I can see the hospital sort of in that haze barrier you get looking into the distance down a hill and up the other side .......
The walk from Bunnings started around 10:30, phoned Margaret around 1pm from the top of the hill, reached the hospital around 4pm ...... the walk back to Bunnings took around 20 mins

So now I'm sunburnt, my feet are complaining near as much as my legs and knees ..... and I'll make sure I have the security fob with me at all times

   that's one of the benefits of having an old ICE car that actually has a key.
When the council first began to add a few Prius to the fleet, it took some of the professional meeting attenders quite a while to figure out that you actually need the fob in the car with you to get it to start.
I hope Marg gets sorted out soon anyway. Thanks for the laugh Terry.
Cheers

A tale to be told late at night around the camp fire after a few bottles of red I would think.

5 more rehab appointments but between easter and Anzac day a couple of weeks added, all going well.

Goodnight Dot you can stop laughing now.

We are going to Apple Tree Creek this morning to the monthly market... just something to do... herself will buy plants no doubt...

I think I'll be using Margaret's crutches for a few days, but apart from that, I survived my bush walking experience ..... and now realise, unless you are in a car, Google doesn't have clue where you are
and, I learn that Google has a walking feature ..... that would of helped big time

On to the trailer today, then back to Flinders to take Margaret her huffa-puffer machine and all the other stuff required for a prolonged stay away from home .......
