Busy and tiring day it was. Early ph call from NZ, Then off for CT, dyke cut, G to Dr for bone density X/R, shopping then home, all day it was Guess who as soon as we got inside?Went to cheap as chips for some mushroom mix and G spotted a recliner chair (electric) but missing cords, G offered the manager $100 as the chair was a bit grubby and if they found the cord bit  cheeky but the guy said ok. Left it with the man to find the bits. Did a pretty good shop today no meat but we have heaps in the freezer. How is the cold weather and arthritis everyone's eyes and joints doing? Deborah your Jayco boys are holding their own this race but a few more to go (Girod'Italia) My boy W V A is still not over his illness but is improving daily. 38ks to go. Off to the warm bed but will take the Rosy dog out for her last toilet break for the night Stay safe on the crazy roads Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Goodnight Google Bot x :D

Gee, Dot, you have fitted a weeks worth of things into a day. Reckon tomorrow will be a sleeping one for you mate. Stay warm and snuggled up in bed for as long as you can get away with it. xxxx

David I agree with you to a degree. The stats this mob have were done comparing the health of people who live in Botany (Sydney) with huge industrial areas and huge truck traffic going through 24/7 and then to our area. They had the Sydney people as being 15% healthier than our area. The same figures of 15% high cancer incidents, go for Singleton and environs. Coal industry and power stations are in this area too.

I agree with you George. I had the last lot of frames for three years, so was getting a bit fed up with them. Too many people have now got the same frames and I am definitely an individual who doesn't follow the pack. Better start looking for a sale on for a new mattress. I think we be on the same hunt too.

Today was another crazy mess with the xray joint. I was meant to be having a scan and xray on my "better" knee. As I had not had any texts or reminders, I decided to ring the place and confirm the appointment. Good thing I did that. There was no appointment made for me for today. This is after a very long confusing phone all to make said booking, last week. Apparently the xray, scan and injection will be done in the one appointment next week. That would have left us even more unhappy, if we had driven the hour trip to get there on time and home again. In future, I will be writing the name of the call person on my calendar so that I have the name to give to the boss. Shirley, don't trust their appointments system. Last week was Toukley that stuffed me up and this was Tuggerah, same company, so beware.

The day wasn't wasted. I did a big collection of things for a vinnies run and have now got four huge bags packed and ready to go. I had the exciting job of giving his nibs a haircut. Only allowed to cut the front, he likes his curls. I reckon after a weekend with our jayco mates, he will be asking for his super long curls to get cut off. He has enough length at the back for a man bun (yuck). Packing the van tomorrow for a jayco weekend....more tomorrow.
night all xxx

There was a major cancer cluster around the Cringila/Lake Hts area in Wollongong, it bordered the no.1 steel works.
It probably traced back to the whole area being built on coal wash back fill .... that caught fire after a scrub fire and that fire went underground. Burnt for yrs and they had pipes coming out just above ground level to vent the fumes ...... including the school playgrounds, both primary and high school, as well as house back yards.
Naturally, the place was full of immigrants that worked at the steel works, land was cheap and within walking distance to work ..... win/win ..... and of course, they were growing their own vegies in the back yard ..... who knows if it was the fumes or what ever the plants were sucking up out of the ground, but it wiped out a lot of kids by the time they reached the end of high school, if they weren't already dead, they were in treatment schemes that ended the same way .....

Deborah we stopped going to Toukley X-ray, years ago, we had gone to I-Med Radiology Kanwal for many, many years, we have for the last 12 mths been going to Hunter Imaging at Lake Haven, never had any problems with them.
Not good all the problems that you’ve had with your knee, hopefully you’ll be able to find out the cause after the scans.

Deborah I did have a little sleep in cuz I was buggered. Had a visitor this arvo for a couple of hrs so that meant sitting down. Tonight the air con got turned on for the first time this winter. Put 2 recliner chairs out the front hoping they will be stolen. Speaking about appointments etc, When I got a time for tests all ok G also had a referral but the test needed was only done by a specialized Dr, the receptionist rang to say she would put G on the cancellation list and let us know when. That was the 14th April. BUT today we got a text saying the Dr was full and we should contact out GP for another ref to another Dr. There aren't may of those Drs that do the test G needs. WT, So tomorrow they will be getting a personal visit to find out that they are playing at , for a start wasting time for treatment. These bloody receptionists think they are god almighty well tomorrow the devil is paying a visit. Incompetent idiots these days. Deborah I hope your knee X/R shows what the problem is, shouldn't have probs with a new joint. Nothing news worthy today, Rosy's mum was boarding the plane home from UK so Rosy goes home this weekend. All you sickies get better soon. BOB's starting soon so goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Vic351 x :D

Dot, we keep on saying it, the older we get the less interesting we are to the medical profession. They probably look at our birthdates and realise that we won't be here to be cash cows for their whole life. Sorry I am feeling just as cynical as you at the moment. xxxx

Today we packed the van for an exciting jayco weekend. We're heading all the way to Stockton. I really can't wait BUT the weather mob has just started putting up warnings for severe weather for the weekend....bummer. Stockton caravan park has had some areas closed off for years due to erosion and if the beach is high, we will have to be very careful about where we put our van. If it gets too rough, we will drive the whole hour to get back home to hibernate.

Take care on the roads everyone,
night all xxx

Deb,
I think I’m in a different class.
For the last 31 years I’ve been a Guinea Pig for the Oncology specialists. First with a bone marrow cancer which I was told would kill me in 2~4 WEEKS.
It didn’t. 😊
Then with a bowel cancer the surgeon said metastases would probably carry me off within the month.
It hasn’t. 😊
I’m still trying variations on chemo after immunotherapy failed.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Another day of being knackered. On the road at 0745hrs, I have never seen traffic like there was today in Adelaide what usually takes 45 minutes going to the Cancer place . Reason for this was Just before I saw my neck man for check up I did a choke episode just as I went into the waiting room  He then got his secretary to write and send a ref to my gut man to see me asap. They rang me say they can see me today at 0900. So after the consult I came out with a form for a Barium Swallow so that is in a week BUT $170 then M/care refund of $80, THEN off to see the people at the place for G;s nerve conduction test and the text they sent saying go elsewhere? well all sorted, I spoke to the nice lady and she said G has an appointment and the big offices at the hosp must of messed up  Pays to do things face to face  G was worried and tried to get me to go home and ring BUT   Deborah the Jayco boys are improving nicely. Hope the weather is kind to your gathering. Rosy goes home this weekend, her mum is in Singapore tonight and home tomorrow night , not used to having to be home to let a dog out for a pee. Dam cold tonight, cold enough to put the air con again. BOB'son again tonight. I made 3 doz sausage rolls this arvo so I reckon that will be tea with creamed rice and peaches for pudding. Ray is one cool resilient dude for sure .Early night tonight. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Bobr x :D

Goodnight All.

It has rained all day and night and is still drizzling. So, I have achieved absolutely nothing.

Dot, you have just made appointment heaven. First getting George in to see his man and then almost straight to the next appointment, for you. Well done. A dear friend of mine used to say "you catch more flies with honey". She was such a sweety that no doctor would ever refuse her. Thinking of you both. xxxx

Ray, you are just the real survivor. You must be a curiosity for all of these docs, but they are treating you well, so that's what the most important thing is here. You are certainly not letting the bastard big C take you just yet, so good on you. xx

We spent a long time just getting the van attached to his truck. The grass in our backyard is so much underwater, that the van just did not want to behave. Once we finally got the van on the patrol, it was up the cement driveway and onto the freeway. Until then we had only a few spits of rain, but dark clouds all round.

What should have been an hours trip, to us nearly 2 hours. The traffic was driving to the conditions and pouring rain. It was not really pleasant driving, but we managed to get here at Stockton. It was teeming when we arrived and one of our lovely club members came over in his wet weather gear and guided his nibs onto the perfect spot. Certainly save me from getting a drenching. We did manage to get set up, but the forecast is not looking really happy. Mention of another East coast low....all I know is that means a shedload of rain is about to fall. Hope it goes away soon.
Stay dry George and Shirley
night all xxx
