With that much battery, could flick the V10 Triton and put an elec motor on the driveshaft and head off. It probably wouldn't need recharging for a very long time. Win win I reckon.
Imagine that, no lifters to contend with.
You made that your nightmare, not mine ;) I didn't have to strip the engine down to find what might be causing the trouble, or have to strip it down to sort the problem ..... diagnosed and fixed without needing even remove a head ......

As for the electric drive idea ..... still on the back burner, depends how hard the wallet gets hit when we finally get on the road for our first trip. It would have to be hybrid anyway, too much weight involved in adding enough battery to get the distance, it can be a long way between charging stations in some places .....

There, made up for the one word answers

Yep. True.

I'm just taking my time methodically doing the engine.

When I'm having a moment of thought about the engine, I sit in the driver's seat and think about all the trips we've done in it.

Tassy, Parkes, Uluru, Nullarbor, Mallacoota, Mundi Mundi. Xmas holidays. Taggerty's. It's almost done 40k so far.

I sure it will do a lot more... The last thing I want is a breakdown and then it ending up in a paddock rusting away like other undignified Bedfords.

After the rebuild, another one is planned in Aug. Each is getting longer and further away.
