Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Oh boy, I can see you terrorizing the locals on a gofer. Dot, do slow down near peoples please. When one of our mates first got one, she went hell for leather everywhere until someone (her hubbie) put something on it to restrict her speeds. She certainly terrorised us for a while. Have fun with it, mate. xxxx

Woke up today to see the sun was shining. What a difference that makes to one's mood. His nibs suggested we take the sewing machine in for service today and I was very keen. This company has been in Newcastle since I was a kid. Mum even bought her sewing machines etc from them I know the company is still in family hands and the mechanic is related in some way to the original people. So I am happy to take my fancy machine to them. They were lovely and could see the problem, so it is in safe hands, Sadly, they have a backlog of machines so it will be about three weeks. I can wait that long.
I did bribe his nibs with the offer of a bang up lunch on the way home. We had lunch at Cardiff RSL, which is an all you can eat Chinese. Well we have noticed the quality of the main course foods has gone downhill. It's nearly all, overfried battered/crumbed stuff and only a few dishes that slightly resemble Chinese cooking. But he is a sweets man. The mains were not worth the money, but after his third bowl of deserts, he was happy. Bribe was good. All we needed was a piece of toast for dinner.

On the way home, we found the right shops to buy an anode for the van and another place for some silicone for the van roof leaks. It's out in the open all year round and the last month would have tested any seals. We do have a cover for the van, but as it gets taken out so often, the effort is just not worth it.
That was the day for us. Not exciting, but so good to see the sun.

Dot, from someone who has much experience in ' the missing 'my Terrieitem search', it will be wherever you left it. You don't have a ' over there to help you shift stuff so it can't be found.
We are in London now, camped in an over rated shxxhole that is supposed to be a 'Superior room'. It's one we booked for our pre tour tour. Nothing like the pic on their own website.
On a brighter note, I would recommend Emirates Airline to anyone that goes anywhere OS. More on that later.
Cheers

As it’s “sun over the yard-arm” time, I’m unlaxing with a glass of very healthy (if rather old) grape juice 😉 (bottled in 2019) and watching the sunset.
We’ve just joined the SKI club!
Booked a “criss-cross Oz” rail holiday. 🚂
In a coupla months we park the car with the Son-&-Heir to catch the XPT 🚄 Melbourne to Sydney, hop on the Indian Pacific 🚞 and ride in pampered luxury as far west as possible without getting wet.
Then a quick flight to the northernmost capital city in Oz where we do the rail thing again, but heading south.
Once in Adelaide we board the Overland 🚆 to Melbourne, pick up the car and drive home.
We did the Ghan south-to-north for my 70th birthday, which was VERY comfy,💺 so we’re very much looking forward to similar pampering this time around. 😊
We figured we should spend the 💰 while I’m still in peak physical condition 🤣, rather than leaving it to S-&-H to squander on MORE trips OS.
Prior to retirement, our only ventures overseas had been to Kangaroo Island and Tasmania… 🙄
(Oncologist has been forewarned and will schedule my treatments around the trip.👍)
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Dot, too technical for me too mate xxxx

David, enjoy every moment in my family historical homeland (well half my history anyway) Find some luxury too and once you leave that dodgy joint do a really lovely post on their f**kbook page. Telling the truth of course.

Ray have the best time. You earnt it mate.

Today was another sunny day...wow two in a row. I did a few odd jobs and then sat down to write a submission about a council report that is waiting for our comments. Environmental suicide is what I reckon they are trying to commit. I was already not in a good mood so when anybody bothers to read it, they may find out about their arty farty document that is full of airy fairy ideas and nothing of any substance. Will have to share my complaint with progress next week. Never a dull moment.

night all xxx

Ray, if by some chance they offer you and Joy a Platinum upgrade , I can recommend that you take up the offer. The service is much better and the bed is a real double not bunks.
Enjoy your trip, whatever happens.
Cheers

Thanks Dave,
If anyone offers me ANY upgrade I’ll take it — even if it’s just a tram seat reserved for the disabled (which I am, just not visibly)! 😊

ps. Talk about good timing!
When I logged into the Sydney hotel’s website for the overnighter (actually two nights) before boarding the Indian Pacific, the hotel had a special offer: King sized room reduced from $500 to $325!
(Same price as their standard room.)
I grabbed it with both hands (metaphorically speaking)! 😁

Thanks for the newsflash Dot. Nice to see the jayco flag being flogged around the world. Are you settling into a warm bed to watch the next stages? xxxx

Nothing much happening in the lair. The sun was shining very weakly, the nights are freezing too. I reckon Shirley will have been hurling those balls around some grass this week...enjoy the freedom of sunshine mate.

We are starting to sort out caravan for a long weekend away with the jayco mob, followed by a weekend in Sydney with the business and then some high tailing it up the coast for my sisters 70th. Methinks that once we get started, we wont be stopping. I need to have some kind of sorting out of washing so that we still have clean dry clothes by the end of 3 weeks pretty much, of being away.

Another sunny and warm day so I did my big burn off and the smoke was great for the nasty cat lady's washing  Then I got the bags containing the shades for the bus and the stink hit straight away so we put the shades on the bus and I used the washing brush on the hose and that truck wash then hosed them all down and will take them off tomorrow put them back into their freshly washed bags then put them in my mouse free cupboard for my gardening stuff till needed. I now put our clothes in plastic bags or the plastic bags for the hanging up stuff. Enjoy your Jayco mob so now you can boast about the BOB's. I think we need to name Shirley "Cannonball Shirley " for her bowling name, I reckon she will be the champ this year. Seeing as the BOB's has been won only the formalities to be done after a ride I think I will hop into the shower and have an early night. Expecting rain in the next day or two so glad we got heaps done today plus I am knackered Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Robert not Bob x :D
