Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

If your zig (or zag) takes you anywhere in our neighbourhood (read: ‘within 100km’) feel free to drop in for a “Hello” and a glass of water… I flavour it with hops. 😉
Heavy vehicle licence required for the Winnie Ray, can't have any of that hops flavoured water and drive after it .... kinda spoils the travelling thing eh

Thank you for the offer, but our 30 days travel time is now down to 7 and falling rapidly, if we cut many more legs off the trip, there will no zigging and zagging, it will a straight run .... and Margaret can't co drive this one ..... doesn't have a heavy vehicle licence ..... and the crook foot would be an issue anyway .... being the right foot and an automatic, the steering column is in the way for left foot driving or at least braking .... the cruise control combined with the auto and all the torque the 6.8ltr V10 provides, there is little need to prepare for a hill or overtaking ..... although, we will be 16 mtrs long now, so plenty of room required to get all 16 mtrs past before cutting back in ..... that will be fun for the first few hundred clicks

Dot, hope the heavy lifting isn't too much for you two. Take good care of yourselves xxxx

Terry, get out of bed early and go mate go. Safe and happy travels .

The cold has set into our bones like something nasty. We even stayed in bed until past 10 am today. It was so warm and snuggly, so why waste the warm? Not a lot happening with us here. I did get a parcel today. One of our caravan mobs had a sale on , with wheel chocks at ridiculous cheap price. It seemed a bit ironic that they arrived when we have no van.

This afternoon, I started out cooking a batch of slow cooked chicken/veg soup. I got inspired to add half a bottle of beerenbergs, mango, chilli and lime sauce. Not a huge kick, but it was pretty delicious with the usual garlic, honey and soy sauce added. It was a nice sort of tasty soup for such a cold day.

My operated knee has been giving me hell again. Had a long chat with the physio and she feels like the doc is probably right with the tendonitis thoughts. She will spend a couple of hours tonight looking through all of the xrays etc since last October and I will see her tomorrow. My only regret is that I will have to bare my leg in these frozen conditions. I value her opinion, so am almost happy to go see her.

That electric blanket is calling, so night all xxx
Deborah

Just get out there and enjoy life

Deb,
The soup sounds delicious!
Our Thermomix recipe only includes garlic & leeks as extras to the usual veggies (apart from salt and pepper).
Can you please list all the ingredients you use?
I’d like to give it a try in the Sous Chef (Thermie).
😋

Would you believe, we still haven't left yet  Got real close, it was dark time when I realised the Winnie has a towbar and goose neck, but no towball ..... I could have taken one of the Falcon or the Prius, but after a 2 hr battle to get the awning to retract into the correct position to lock it down ..... that was the last straw, I'll drag the toolbox and tool bag back out tomorrow and either battle with one of the towballs, or just buy another one from the place down the road .....

The battle with the awning was a result of the big winds we had for 2 or 3 days, it bent to the pin in the anti flapper bar on the front, so that had to be pried out of the drum, then the arms would not align at the top to lock into place, the side arms and the anchor points at the top no longer line up. I've managed to get the rear one to locate and lock, but no hope with the front one, so it's tied up to stop it catching in the wind and self deploying ..... it was so twisted, the drum wouldn't roll up .... then when it didn't line up properly, I couldn't get the ratchet to release to open it back up again ..... hopefully I'll be able to fix it in the morning and we will finally get to hit the road ......

You know you've been parked up in one spot for too long, when it takes a week or more to pack everything up and sort what will fit where, and what just won't fit so has to be left behind

T1,
Before you move the van, after it has not moved for some time, check that you don’t have square wheels… 😁

Today we had a small tree down out the front, G used the chainsaw to cut cleanly from the trunk then I had the job of cutting the greenery off the top of the branches then I cut all the smaller branches up into 1ft lengths for kindling next year and with the greenery is for me to get my bonfire going again when it's a bit drier. That buggered me out real good so at 4pm I sat with feet up and had a cider  Brian's sneezing and wheezing has improved so happy with that. BOB's are on but it's time trials tonight, have a long way to go yet, Gee the countryside is fantastic with those castles and little towns high up on those big hills. Deborah you are sure having trouble with that knee of yours have you had any scans of it lately? How is the bowling practice going Shirley or is it too cold to be out there? We are having our Covid jabs tomorrow. G installed a bug protector ? the computer fixer said it was a good one, we'll see. Off to bed soon and will watch the end of the BOB's 3 of the best are due to start their run soon. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Robert n Bob x :D Have a safe and pleasant get away x

Dottie,
Good to see you are installing a bug protector.
The poor little things deserve protection.
Most people just let them splatter against the windscreen.

Where did today go? My feet were killing me last night so sleep was off and on so I stayed snuggled up in bed. The painter man came and collected the deposit and was rather pleased with the prep work G and I had done. They will be here at 7 am but I won't, I will be in the bus tonight. George and Brian will be inside till the workers appear then I bet Brian takes off but G will then put him in the bus with me.David seems to be having a good time maybe the old girls should of asked him what was this word starting with a F meant? Shame Billy wasn't there to entertain them.Robert n Bob and Molly are now on the road for a few days so take it easy and the same to everyone else on the roads. Stay warm and out of trouble (if you can) Off out to my private pad soon, diesel heater is an along with the tv for the BOB's and the electric blanket also on so Goodnight every one x :D Goodnight Shirley x :D
