Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Good morning.
Looks like I can't have a EV... Dave said you have to have a credit card to charge...we don't own one πŸ‘ΏπŸ˜
Nothing going on here I kept the fire going for herself I've just lit it so it will be warm when she gets up...
Her walking was much better yesterday... and still no pain..
I did get one of our neighbours to drop in and give me a hand to bring the largest of the bench tops in... and I sanded another ready for the stain... when it's a bit warmer...
Our son is heading to Brisbane today... He had a phone call from the hospital... hopefully they will admit him and fix the issue with his heart...
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Good morning everyone. Bright ,sunny and still pretty windy here this morning.
I managed to get the little Tilta back together yesty, almost.
Nearly finished and got a call to help with a wind induced emergency. The neighbours garden shed roof had attempted to leave the building. Sort of got it back together and made safe. Covered it all with a big tarp. Not sure what will happen next.
I'm off to the GP today for a few scripts and stuff.
Take care if you're out and about.
Cheers

Speaking of EV Charging Stations in whoop whoop, I took this photo at the Corroboree Park Tavern on the Arnhem Highway at Marrakai in the NT last year. This was inside the camping area, not in the Tavern car park.

No, you get an RFID card from your favourite supplier or organisation, tap that on the screen and away it goes. Lots of ways to pay your account, bank transfer, direct debit, you could probably even post them a cheque Bernie ;) You can put your account in credit ready for a long trip or the rare times you might use a charging station and you get a discount, 5% for a $50 credit, so $52.50 of charging for the $50 you spent, some even go as far as 10% for $100 credit, approx. one full quick recharge for free ....

Even a tiny town like Rutherglen has one (count them β€” use your fingers if you need to β€” a whole ONE!). 😲
… that is, unless you (still) own a Tesla AND pay for a night at a particular local motel. In that case we have two. 😁

Yeah, but how many are there at the servo near the highway, they even have an array of solar panels to off set the charging load on the grid.
Driving across the stretch of road from Port Augusta to Perth, there is charging stations available all the way across, that is fairly much Woop Woop country out that way. WA has them on every major road out of Perth to the next major city, like Esperance as an example ..... Woop Woop country out there.
Then there is solar, just plug into the motorhome or house and charge during the day for free .....
So no Dottie, you don't need a generator, you can even get an EV Jerry Can that will give you up to 100kms range if you run out of power in Woop Woop, you wouldn't get much better than that in you ICE powered vehicle ......

There is an answer for every piece of negativity (even the make believe stuff) that you want to throw up ..... but it's interesting to see just how good the fossil fuel industry has spread the B/S and how willing some are to accept it as being true

The RFID card is a debt card, but any debit card will work with most EV chargers these days. We don't have any credit cards either, not since Bankcard ..... and much to their annoyance, we used as a debit card by paying money in when there was no debit, putting the account in credit, so they couldn't charge transaction fees, account fees or interest, but it saved carrying large amounts of cash around ...... The system was set up so only the card owner could withdraw any excess funds, they couldn't simply send it out in a cheque or transfer it to another savings account ..... we did get regular letters asking us to spend down the credit amount and not to make any further payments until the account was in debt ..... it wasn't set up to refuse a payment through a teller machine either
So, we got to use their system at no cost to us, savings account interest was rather poor back then, so we didn't lose much in the fact Bankcard didn't pay interest, only charge it at 18%

T1,
That service station near the Hume Highway with all the solar-powered charging stations is a 45km drive away.
That’s 90km of driving just to make sure you can still drive around town.
Our local servo is 500 METRES away from our house.
At least our one and only public charging station is only 600m away. (The motel with the Tesla charger is 400m.)

Which brings me a random thort: πŸ€”
What if, in the early years of motor car development, petrol pumps had only been available to drivers who booked into a hotel, or bought something from a retailer.
Would ICE-powered cars have become the norm, or would people have jacked up and continued riding horses?
Regards & God bless,
Ray

or if the marketing guys were really smart,

they could have made a really slow petrol pump and marketed the motel as a place to stop overnight while filling the tank. ideas, ideas, ideas.....
