TV cracklings/pixilating

Post by Dot »

I think I have asked this or similar before but not sure but I need it fixed.
We are living in the bus in the yard, hooked up to power. Turn the TV on and all ok then the thing goes berserk with pix elating, now and again not all channels are effected,. have tried turning off the air con, lights, microwave, but to no avail. The 2 TV's are good old Kogan, one in the bedroom with a suppressor on it and the one up the front has no suppressor on it and it also gets the crack ups...Oh yeah G said to say that even the tv in the house does the pixelating thing when the outside light goes on, and sometimes when the fridge is opened, or the kettle gets turned on, To me this is looking like there is something wrong with the power connection from the street to the house ??? Could this be possible David???

Dot, I would be thinking that there is an LED light or maybe a light dimmer that is the cause of this. If it also happens when you are away from home, then it's something in your bus. If it only happens when you are parked at home, then it could be something in your house, or even a neighbours.
The TV in our Winny used to do the same thing, but only during the day. That turned out being the PWM solar controller.
Cheers

Maybe, Terry's coils are affecting it?

Good one Jon  Our strange power problems back at the Mannum holding pen, turned out to be a fried neutral link at the transformer and was causing shocks in the residence beside the yard that was powered from the same point ..... we don't watch TV in the Winnie, but the You Tube videos were pixilating, so maybe similar .....

Thanks guys for your input I shall get G onto these suggestions over the weekend. Just to top things off, the diesel heater pooped itself so G has it out ready for the next one to go in. Yes it was a cheap Chinese heater but has done well for just over $100 or so and has done it's job for a few years. Next  Jd don't worry about T1's coils, I thought only women used them, Oh things have changed

Dot, I have the same problem, but only on Win channels and sometimes sbs. Cut down a couple of trees in front of the house which were in line with the TV tower in Hobart, but to no luck and checked the connections on the antenna and connections in the house. Weird thing is Win comes back on when it rains and goes away when it dries out yet no water ingress into anywhere I can find. So going to change the antenna as have a new one bought years ago supposedly for HD, but didn't install it because the very old one worked fine. My lounge TV pixelates when I put on the nut grinder and sometimes the wheat grinder, but no problems otherwise.

My TV does the same, but only when a wheat train goes through the town.
It's bloody annoying as the length of a wheat train going at the acceptable through town speed can result in several goals being kicked.

G'day Keith, they preached about HD TV being so much better, but seems there's more problems with interference, but can't complain about the picture quality when things aren't interfering. Don't have any trains here, don't have anything around us that would interfere. Originally thought it was someone using a radio or electronic equipment near the same frequencies as the TV, but as rain seems to remedy the problem and no rain means bad picture on Win, don't know. Have noticed the last couple of days other channels are pixelating for a few seconds and having lived here 27 years, it's only been in the last year this has started.

Hopefully find a solution, there may be a gadget you can buy which suppresses interference, so may do a bit of research, even a booster may help.

I stopped most pixelating by going Satellite TV.
