It will let all the rain in over the next week.
So, a drain with a check valve then ;) Margaret says it all looks fine so I should just put it back together and not worry about lifting the lino/wood look section ..... but she isn't the one who would have to pull it back out later
The floor is 7 ply marine with a layer of Styrofoam and another section of 7 ply marine board ...... I guess, if the water gets through the first 7 ply sheet and is trapped in the foam, there is no way I'd be able to cut it out anyway ..... maybe just a series of flapper valves across the rear of the under floor so it can drain out when we park nose up ..... which we never do :? Across the middle so as it flows front to back and back to front, it can drain out

I have no idea if there is actually any water trapped between the two marine ply floors, if I pulled the lino up I'd at least know if there was any wood rot in that section ....

Ignorance wouldn't be bliss for me, I'd always be concerned about what might be there .... well, as long as my memory holds up that there was ever a problem

All this talk about the rain made me look at the BoM app  turned the Winnie around so the rear was up at the full extent of the levelling legs and exposed to the 125kmh winds predicted .... we are now wedged between the house and the fence, rear end in and battened down ready for the fun to begin ..... rain has started and is increasing intensity and the temp has gone from warm and humid to cooling off rapidly .....

Hmmm..... well, there was no further work on the water heater install, that enclosure, not being enclosed at the moment, is getting a fresh water flush out .... should have drilled that hole .......
The coils finally arrived, no idea how they managed to lose a box that big, but they managed, 10 coils each in their own box makes quite a decent size parcel it turns out

I was going to add to the last post about the water heater ..... but I can't find it now

A recap, Painted the inside of the cupboard area where the water heater lives with a bitumen water based paint :? which turned out to be a bit of an issue
Water heater 2.jpg
Next, I made a water catch tray out of Coreflute and glued up the joins with roof and gutter sealant and glued it along the edge of the door frame, so the water would run out under the door if it leaked ...... maybe
Water heater 3.jpg
Then I slide the water heater into position and screwed the outside flange .... with more roof and gutter sealant, except for along the bottom, so the rain stayed out but the inside leaks could drain if needed.
Connected up the water pipes, turned the water and the hot tap on to bleed out the air ..... all good, turned the sink tap off and the John Guest fitting tore itself out of the screw in fitting and gave the inside carpet tiles an unscheduled hosing down .... finally figure which way the two pump switches needed to be facing so the pump stopped .... and proceeded to take all the carpet tiles from the bedroom to the front door, out to drain over night .....

You guessed it, yes, it rained over night  so the carpet tile had a second rinse

Off to the hammer shop to buy a collection of fittings, they don't carry John Guest fitting, so off to Reece Plumbing, purchased the required John guest fitting and a pipe joiner because we still seemed to have a water leak some where as well ... pump running every 30 secs.

Fitted the 90* brass elbow and the new John Guest 1/2" BSP to stupid plastic pipe fitting, connected it up, turned the water on and the pump ..... instantly found the other leak ..... another mess of John guest fitting on the cold water to shut off tap hose ......

Back to the hammer shop and exchange the excess fittings for another 90* 1/2" BSP male/female brass fitting and Reece Plumbing to exchange the straight pipe joiner for another stupid 1/2" BSP to plastic hose adapter ..... fitted them up and :D No more water leaks. Added a female socket to the power cable coming from the power point behind the drawer two compartments over, then plugged the lead from the new heater in and 8-) no sparks or tripped circuit breakers :D :D
Water heater 1.jpg
Still have to join up the 12v wires for the gas switch thingy ..... and no need to drill a hole in the floor, the drain for kitchen sink is behind the wall in the next cupboard and it's dripping out around that .... now to get the latest layer od water based bitumen paint off the hands ..... it doesn't dry when water leaks on it, take 7 days to be water proof

Hey Prof T1, when did you say you would be back in Mannum? Haven't heard very much about the bad weather you have been having up there what's been happening?

Terry, I'm kinda hoping that you have put those brass insert thingos into all the hoses before you finished all the connections. I've always thought that, that is the downfall to all those JG failures. The tight arsed manufactures of most mh's and vans don't usually use them, cos they can save a few bucks, but cause interminable grief years later.
Of course, if I'm preaching to the converted, ignore this post.
Cheers
