Lovely day today after a freezing day yesterday and misty rain most of the day. Learnt a lesson yesterday, when ran out of fuel heading to Hobart. My cruiser carries 300lt in tanks, plus a 20lt jerry can and 5lt for car starting and 2.5lt starter tank. But because the tanks are so big, the gauges only register about 3/4 of the fuel in each tank and forgot I'd switched tanks a couple of weeks ago, so when it started dying switched to the other tank only for it to stop. Luckily had only gone a few klms from home, so switched to the 2.5lt starter tank and drove home, then spent the next 15 minutes getting all the air out by switching from starter to main tank (after filling it) and had no more problems. Took the rear seats out when got home to discover the lead to the low fuel light had come adrift which was why didn't realise how low the fuel was.
Today heading to the beach with the dogs, they love bounding along the 4klm beach whilst I jog and walk along throwing Bindi a stick. Dax love to chase a ball, so bought him an expensive big rubber one and he's been chasing it. The other day threw it and off he went, only to stop and sniff something on the beach and the ball rolled down the beach and into the water. So he raced after it stuck his foot into the water and refused to get the ball, the water temperature at this beach is 6 degrees below the water temperature at the bach we normally go to and that's because it's on the southern ocean. Whereas the beach we normally go to which is a surf beach, is on the Aus east coast current and much warmer. Nothing I said would convince him to get the ball and to make matters worse, it doesn't float so the waves took it further out until it was unreachable. Bindi just stood there with the stick in her mouth, looking at me then Dax, then the disappearing ball and trotted away up the beach.
To bloody smart these kelpies and because Dax has hip dysplasia have to lift him into the car as he can't jump. Now Bindi who always jumped in, puts her front paws on the tailgate and looks at me saying lift me up I'm crippled like Dax. Yet she's capable of jumping over logs and won't jump so have to lift her back legs up so she gets in. When she comes in the house she makes a mighty leap over a high lounge chair onto her bed and flops down. To bloody smart these kelpies, but adorable.
Can't paint the sidecar yet, to cold did a test paint and it bloomed and my painting area isn't heated and gets no sunlight. So will have to wait for it to warm up a bit more, but will experiment with air brushing using stencils and craft water based acrylics in workshop area with the wood heater, much warmer there.
Good morning daily

Re: Good morning daily
Late good morning everyone. Clear blue sky and no wind here.
Might get a chance to help the neighbour fix her shed roof. It tried to destroy itself in the wind the other day.
Had the blood tests, couldn't get a monitor, need to book online.
Now just wait til GP says????
NP, we bought a plastic fold up ramp for Bandit to walk up when he started to lose a bit of spring in his step. Wasn't too expensive. KMart I think.
Jon, slow but steady wins the race.
Safe travels everybody

Re: Good morning daily
NP,
After Dave’s Bandit demonstrated his ramp, we bought one at Kmart for $70. It’s a stock item, so should be available at your nearest store.
Took our greyhound girls just one day of instruction/encouragement after seeing Bandit trot into our car.
They now wait with anticipation for me to unfold the ramp.
NOTE: Because our MU-X back floor is so high off the ground it makes for a steep slope. I glued ribbed carpet (Hammer shop mat) over the hard plastic ramp surface for claws to get better purchase. Works a treat!

Good morning.
Another fresh morning...I'm reluctant to do the staining on the cupple that need staining... it's not good weather at the moment...I even heated the last one to 32 degrees but not happy with the result...
I sharpened my chainsaw and cut a flitcher for the fire... chain about at the end of its life... bugga all left to sharpen
.. I need a new chainsaw...as well... I've had this Husqvarna about 30 plus years...
I haven't been told what I'm doing today she's still in bed
..
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Re: Good morning daily
Dot, Dax is male, Bindi is the female and shows signs of dimwitted ness in the form of can't make up her mind, or changes it, note the connection.
Checked out the ramps as know someone with a Kmart one and they are great, problem is my car is very high the previous owner raised it and the ramps is to steep, the carpet is a great idea. I have an old aluminium bike ramp which is longer but no where to put it in the car, so I lift him in and it helps with the fitness thing. I'm currently addicted to a water rower which is great and expensive, gives the impression of rowing a boat as the resistance is water and it makes the same sound as rowing. Use it at least 3 times a day and row as fast as I can until buggered, the harder you pull the tougher it is. Much better than lifting weights and doing all those other exercises, rowing is a full body workout and my osteopath is impressed with the outcome, as I am.
Looks like another nice warm (14) day, so off to the beach we will go and walk/jog a few klm. Dax actually ran yesterday for the first time in many years, which is refreshing to see and he's looking good, but being very watchful and not letting him over do it until his heart murmur settles down as the heart muscles strengthen. Yesterday read about a bloke who's 102 and still plays tennis 3-4 times a week, so there's hope for us all with a bit of exercise.

Re: Good morning daily
I found those ramps a bit too steep for my Dobe, bit the foam steps suited him better. NP Dax told me he was identifying as female when he didn't want to go into that cold water.

They sent the debt collectors onto us, saw the accountant and she fixed all that via these machines and said the tax dept don't even know their own rules.
