I have had to have a medical for my medium rigid every year since turning 70yo and next year, at 80yo, I have to have a heavy vehicle driving test.

I reckon that mandatory testing is a good thing. I am of the opinion that there are more than a couple of people driving around that should not have a licence.
I also believe that a towing licence should be a requirement to tow a van or big trailer.

Maybe not Jon, it doesn't come into affect until Aust 2025, a week away, might need to double check with your state authority in a mth or so .....

As Jon said spam...who is "the government"
It's nothing to do with the federal government... and all states are different.

Sure, but it doesn't mean clamping down on what actually a Nation Licence (any heavy vehicle licence) isn't about to take place.

I'll wait a few mths before I stop being concerned about needing to redo a driving test to keep my HC licence .....

Just add it to the trump thread.

I'd be more concerned about the NHVR and retro fitting a hybrid into a motor-home. I'm sure they'd be interested that compliance report.

 One of the great things about a post 2000 ADR compliant heavy vehicle, as long as the electrics side is engineered, all else simply sails through .... it did have to be able to stop a 10 tonne 6.8 ltr V10 after all, how much power could a 3 ltr V6 with a hybrid transmission produce ;)

Yep. Let's cut to the chase.

When will you start?
How long will it take?
