Welcome back Dot, missed you mate. You are doing too much physical stuff. It's ok to slow down and respect your need to rest (often) xxxx
So far, this week, we have had over 2 inches of rain. Today was the first time that he has checked it since Monday. On Monday he and our handyman finally patched up our main water tank. All of the rain we have had this week has totally filled the tank from completely empty. That explains the grass being so sodden and sinky underfoot.
Shirley, sounds like a lot of nasty bugs going round. Try not to catch any of them for yourself mate. The bowls are definitely not worth venturing out in this frozen weather and no wonder your bowlers are falling sick. I even have to time when I go out to check the letterbox. The risk of being blown down the street is real!
Today was another eat, sleep repeat sort of day. The highlight was a call from the insurance company telling me that the money that was promised two weeks ago, will be in our account tomorrow. Obviously, they don't work under any stressful time limits. The lady assured me that the repairers would now be blacklisted on their books and that she will ring them to suggest they need to get a wriggle on. She may ring back tomorrow, may be interesting or not. We have heard it all by now.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Today started out quite well, did some more putting back stuff and some dusting then I had a ph call from a friend in NZ to say my friend had died a couple of days ago from bloody cancer. This person was my neighbor in Whangarei and he became a very successful business man starting off in NZ and opening on the share market of 50cents pr share,of which my then husb and I took up. My son was working for him and had a thing with this guys daughter
Anyway things went crazy and his business expanded to Australia and many other countries but we kept in touch right up until my last NZ trip when we found out he was so crook with the big C. So sad he was a lovely generous man. George and I have been invited to his yet to be announced funeral but I declined but that put a damper on my day.
Tomorrow is GP day for us both, G has the dentist as well.Another load of stuff for the op shop going their way. Oh nearly forgot, when I was going through photos I came across a card from 2002 on our first trip and we met a lady on her first solo trip and she was a bit scared so she tagged along with us from Broken Hill to Jericho, she bought a house there and we parted company, On the thank you card was her ph number and so I rang and left a message, about an hr later phone rang and bugger me it was her what a fluke hey what? she is now living in Bendigo and thinking about travelling again. Hope everyone is behaving and keeping out of trouble (maybe not Bernie) he he Terry when will you be back in Mannum? Cold night coming up 5deg last night and just 7deg now so I am off to bed. Goodnight everyone x

Morning Dottie, I think we have to be back by 16th Aug for an appointment for Margaret.
Still no grandson yet, but it has to be soon. It's Jess's birthday on the 3rd, the money seems to be on that being the day, same day as Megan, Margaret's daughter in Germany .... Son reckons he'll be the luckiest man alive, 3 birthdays on the one day, surely he'd have to remember that

ProfT tell your DIL to have a gentle nooky, that will do the trick for sure.
G ended up having a root canal done. Saw his GP about his bloods =ok and physio for his shoulder as steroid jab didn;t work and he told G that the backman should be able to figure out what is wrong with G's legs from the nerve conduction test results now in. (see next Wed) My GP says I have to go to see my neck man as there is a new ?sore appearing where the first nasty was. I have no doubt it is Nothing at all, nothing.Anyway I got home at 4pm and really tired as last night 's sleep was disturbed. G had beat me home and a cuppa was waiting when I got in. Off to bed now so Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
You fit a lot into just one day Dot. Maybe a sleep in tomorrow? xxxx
I have found that my tendonitis in my operated on knee is due to my over exercising it, allowing it to overstretch when I am asleep. I do tend towards bringing my knees right up to my chest and my knee has been really painful. So Bernie, warn Carol, not to overdo it. The last two nights I have returned to wearing the elastic knee brace and it has made an immense difference. I think it's stopping me from pulling my knee up too far and I am getting out of bed with a lot less pain. Think this may become a regular thing for a while now. The tendonitis has been terrible and returned suddenly several times. This is at least worth a try.
Nice surprise today. The insurance company has put the final payment for the van repairs into our bank. yay. Now I need a very small bomb to put under the repairers to get a move on and give us back our van.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Good news Deborah, unbelievable the time it has taken to repair your caravan, just as well you weren’t living in it.
Maybe the cold weather is affecting your knee, I have arthritis in my hands & they have been very painful.
Dot, way back 55 years ago when I was pregnant with my eldest son & living in Cairns, I was told to go 4x4 driving to get things happening, he was 10 days late, we had a Landrover, use to go away with 4 other 4x4 vehicles, long before 4x4s became popular.
Goodnight
members,
Goodnight Dot.

Too tired to come out and play Dot? Don't blame you in this freezer. xxxx
Sorry Shirley, I gave the wrong impression. Caravan fix at Cardiff still have our van. They claim that the parts have not all arrived yet...only 2 months, so far. The insurance co have paid me for all the parts that I have paid to the caravan repairers to get the parts ordered. They would not order parts until they received the money from the insurer, so I stepped in and paid up . Obviously that made no difference to getting the parts any sooner.
Damn you Nigel, you are good. We even had a bit of hail this afternoon.
I came here to get more work done on the photo project and as soon as I had the computer turned on, we had a huge lightning strike close by. All work was stopped and we had another day of doing very little.
Stay away from the East Coast if you are smart
