In doubt if Terry would have moved on, it's still raining down south and a little heavier than it is here.

125mm over the week gone, 75mm so far since midnight last night and possibly the same for tomorrow ..... no 240vac power in the Winnie, it must have been running on the inverter for quite a while to drain the 600Ah battery.Newcastle George wrote: ↑Thu Aug 21, 2025 5:40 pm In doubt if Terry would have moved on, it's still raining down south and a little heavier than it is here.

No hope of getting the trailer out of the front yard for a day or so, then we will head for Nowra, across to Braidwood, the Canberra to see my daughter ... from there, it will depend on road conditions.
The road that joins this end of town to the city itself is flooded, but the long way around via the freeway is still open, they made that high enough to avoid flooding from the bottom of Mt Ousley through to Nowra .... Getting from Mt Ousley to Wilton to get onto the Hume hwy is quite likely to be a no go, there have been signs for the last mth that the road was closed each night for road repairs .... with all this rain and number of trucks that use the piece of road, I doubt it will remain open .....

Re: Our "New to Us" Winnie
Not really. It's only 12v...... no 240vac power in the Winnie, it must have been running on the inverter for quite a while to drain the 600Ah battery.
I have the same capacity except 24v at 300.
I can drain it in a day if not paying attention. Plus the 'interesting' discharge voltage curve will make the sodium even more interesting. But we spoke about this at length some time ago. All ok you said.
Plus, the MG was going to be the back up. Seems not.
Just becareful not to discharge the MG to much.you might need it for a ling drive.

The MG is Chinese.
No long drives, just ling drives.
Or a dumb spelling error. You can choose.

Re: Our "New to Us" Winnie
haha. I can't wait to park next to you somewhere & fire mine up in anger!!!
They don't call them 'quiet' for nothing.
But no, sometimes you just have to do what you have to do to get to the Dr on time.
Sounds like his house batteries are 'flat'.
The battery/s in the MG are 'flat'.
He maybe has power in the nearby premises but with no charger for the MG .......
Perhaps plug the Winny into the premises & use the inverter/charger to charge up the house batteries?
Can't imagine Terry & Marg pushing the MG down to the nearest charging station either.
Yep, fire up the noisy thing with a smile on your dial.
I thought you have a genny Dot?
