Bruce, Did you get that savage down pour and strong winds this arvo? G put the new belts on the bus so we know they are all ok. Looking forward to catching up with Vic & Glenda tomorrow.
G had his 2nd CT guided back jabs this morning so now we wait a few weeks to see if he gets improvement or not.You are right Deborah very interested to see how the blob turns out. Shirley when do expect to be back bowling? HTFFBO reports that Paul is doing well. BOB's are in Spain now and have 46ks to go so it's off to the shower then bed for me. Stay dry and warm and safe on the roads. Goodnight everyone x
Goodnight Bobr x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, I hope G has a miraculous improvement in his back. Please give him a hug from us. It just seems that we all are feeling our age at the moment. Rain and cold certainly are playing their part. My knees are both trying to tell me something, I am trying not to hear them.

The sun has been shining so brightly today that the washing got fully dried and didn't need to hang around inside , in front of the heater for the night. That feels so good. I hate the Chinese laundry feel in winter.
That glob is still a work in progess. It was way too hot for me to pull out and do a full inspection. On looks, it's a heck of a lot better than yesterday's attempt. One of the legs only just landed onto the floor of the kiln, so no twisty bit at its base. Not worth doing a refry for what is probably only a few seconds at top temp. Once I get it out of the kiln and do a full reccy, I will know if it's a finished piece or not. The splat bowl is getting it's 5th firing tonight, over a reconfigured mold. I do hope that this is the last time for that one. It should become a lovely flattish, fruit bowl by tomorrow.
We will be off to the hammer shop tomorrow and then a little bit of aldi on the way home.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Deborah it isn't G's back that is the problem it is his legs, the nerves doing the damage come from his back so that is where the jabs have to go. Today we had the pleasure of the company of Vic and Glenda from Victoria and have been doing some camping around SA. Did a couple of loads of washing and that's about all for me today. The wind is still blowing like mad and some rain in amongst it. The BOB's are doing the team trial tonight so not very exciting. Early night tonight. Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Poor Mr G. Sorry I forgot it is his legs that are misbehaving. Hope the treatment does the trick. Even with rain you seem to be busy over there. Stay warm xxxx
Today was sort of pleasant for a while but then the rain returned and we have stayed inside this afternoon just to keep warm.
We did the aldi shop and ended up buying out half the shop. Well a lot more than was on the list, that's for certain. Our freezer is stuffed with extra meals and fresh meats, while the veggies are now up to a nice pile for immediate use. We even splurged on a punnet of strawberries. That was an unexpected treat, especially for $2;50, not complaining there. For some reason, the green grocery stuff at aldi has a decent shelf life. The things from ww only last a couple of days before they show signs of badly aging. Obviously it becomes smarter to buy some things from aldi and others from ww.
No shed visit this afternoon, maybe tomorrow. No real need to get wet just to open the door on the kiln. By the time I get back down there everything will be very cool and easy to handle. I did all those time consuming things like paying a few bills etc. We are now paid up, until the next one rolls in. Never ending right?

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
I had a Dot night last night. The forum has me signed in but refused for me to post my reply. Hope you're all warm and snuggled up Dot xxxx
I tried to put up pics of the latest work last night, so here goes.
This is the set up in the kiln After first firing
Second try after smashing the previous one off the kiln to reuse mold and the same glass The resulting product Remember i told you that it would be shown when I am happy with it? Once the mold gets cut off, I am happy with it.
Had a crappy day today with us both having reactions to the pneumonia shots that we had yesterday. Never get reactions to the flu shots, but this made us both feel off today.
Freezing cold, windy and now raining

The new plate looks awesome Deborah, interesting seeing it’s firing stages, never 2 exactly the same always a unique creation.

Deborah, as soon as I saw that I thought of a array of candles out the top. Have you thought of anything like that. One the last fire perhaps put brass candle holders in where it sags and it would infuse them into the glass. The candle holders are available through wood working supplies.
Just a thought and YES I think what you has is very good.
