Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

supersparky wrote: Thu Aug 28, 2025 10:38 am Terry, were you at Wyalong or West Wyalong. Big difference in the size of the town. If it's West Wyalong, the showgrounds are not too bad. Good clean showers and toilet, dump point etc.
Was $25 pn a month or so ago. Less for no power. Decent feed at the RSL, reasonable prices. Obviously you will have gone past there by now. Maybe remember it for next time.
At the centenary park in Wyalong, just toilets here but no charge. Crawling under the Winnie is hard work when your old, got the wires cut and joined, just need to wrap it in tape and tie it up, but I only last about 5 mins before the shakes get too serious and I feel like I'm going to throw up ..... not good, think it might be time to see a doctor when I get home .....

Feel better this morning, but I haven't been crawling around under the Winnie yet. Margaret took the MG4 into West Wyalong for a recharge so we had power for last night and what ever nights we free camp on the way home. Much nicer to have the air con warming the Winnie at night and again in the morning, going to bed warm, to a warm bed with the eleccy blanket on, then getting up the next morning to a warm Winnie, the way living in a house should be .....

Thinking of you and your family today Jon, losing your mum is hard

Arrived at the Hay free camp at 4pm, Margaret said I should put that up on the forum to record one of the few times we have arrived at Motorhome Happy Hour

Winnie performed well, the wind and rain was a tad treacherous for anything tall and under 10 tonne. Watching caravans coming towards us hanging out over the centreline and dragging the tow vehicle off line, then the gust would stop and the whole rig would head for the dirt ...... so 50km/h max as soon as a caravan was spotted. Fortunately, they travel in herds, so the dance of the snail house ballet was at least entertaining while they passed :D Funny how they don't wave back during the dance, and the knuckles shine white through the windscreen ..... and the navigator is clearly yelling instructions because the bloke behind the wheel wouldn't know what to do without their advice ;)

The fact the wind gusts could come from any direction and the rain alternating between a few spots and a white out, with stretches where the road and verge was dry, yet others had lakes un the side of the road and deep puddles hiding the cavities in the bitumen, didn't make driving a whole lot easier either.

Saw one of those little Lite Ace hightop things near get thrown into the weeds in front of us, as a triple trailer road train passed throwing up a wall of white ...... must have scared the driver big time, they pulled over 100 mtrs up the road in a spot that looked wide enough to set up camp.

I tried to picture the times we had experienced similar in the Kombi .... but that was just part of the excitement travelling in them   I had visions of Leslie having a panic attack and a litter of kittens, every time she saw a truck approaching ;) ..... it's a long and boring piece of road, so the mind has plenty of time to draw pictures to put a smile on the dial ....

Good morning, 11c maximum predicted 18c, no rain, westerly wind across the lake so it will be chilly outside, to cold for a roll up today, maybe next week.

Morning all.

Mums funeral went well. Mum's twin brother, sister, their kids, my brothers and families. Quite a turn out.

3 boys, a grandson and Doug (mum's twin) spoke.

She's with Dad now.

It's super freezing this morning. Not as windy as expected last night.

Safe travels everyone. I'm expecting to head north on Tuesday.

Sounds like a good send off Jon.
Thinking of you. Give it time.

North? Sounds real good!
Take me with you! Take me with you?
Did I say "take me?"
Watch out for the sunburn!
