That's what I reckon too
Murphy says, as soon as the engine is disabled, the council will ping you to move it or yourselves.
At the current productivity capacity, 5 minutes before a rest is needed, it might take longer than Rustic.....
which is infinite at this point in time.

What's the plan then?

Terry, throw that kettle outbefot it kills you or Marg.
Start again with new hoses on the LPG. Like Mr Furphy said, do it once, do it well, build a better Australia.

 Cut to the bone I tell ya, cut to the bone

I will need a shed before I even contemplate starting the conversion ..... the minister for war and finance says getting a suitable house is number 1, with a shed that is suitable would be ideal for both of us.

If we find one that ticks all the boxes, the house block would go on the market, the vehicle fleet would be moved to the new premises and then the workshop block would go on the market.

If we can't find the one that ticks the boxes, a new house at the house block and a shed, or a house with a workshop under it and the advantage of second storey living and the improved views from that lusty height .....

The only negatives Margaret has about building on the existing block, the builder going belly up and our money is tied up in bankruptcy B/S ( those appear on the TV and interweb quite often) the road getting cut by another flood and that pushing insurance to an unmanageable level, no walking track to Mannum for Margaret and the dog, the roadside is borderline suicidal along that stretch, and the usual ..... what about when we get too old to drive into town, what will we do then  Organising drone deliveries didn't go down well at all

So, at the moment, the Winnie is home and any work that will make it immobile will need to take less than 3 weeks to complete, I think that is the minimum eviction time allowable ......

Are you home yet? I reckon resuscitating Rustic Inn would be quicker. Now what you say?

If you are going down the hybrid path, then pull all the gear that you'll need out of the Benz, and figure out how it all works.
You may find that your body can't do that stuff anymore. I can't lay on my back and look up, or bend over and touch the floor. It's part of getting old.
At least if you start with the Benz, the Winny will still be functional, and you can just write all the other stuff off as a pie in the sky idea that didn't quite work out.

We were going to camp out at Geranium, but Optus has no interweb coverage there, so we are at Peak by the war memorial .... we were going to park up at the rear of the oval, but no camping sign at the gate quashed that idea. It started to rain, so I chased that off by putting 3 plastic bowls out to collect it ..... it's dark time now and the rain can't see them, so it started falling again

Actually, that ran through my mind as I was driving today, that explains a lot on it's own  A lot of room for batteries, roll the diff centre back over and the Lexus L110 transmission and maybe a 6 cyl 3.6 ltr boxer engine out of a Subaru Outback under the floor as the added power and generator drive when away from the grid and needing a battery recharge fast.

The down side of that idea, it isn't registered and has a water leak problem (I know where/what is the cause, but I'm not planning on removing the ceiling or roof outside down the righthand side to fix it) the inside was never finished, nor was the part above the windscreen .... that was the part I was up to when the solicitor told me not to complete it yet .... that broke my spirit and it never progressed past that point .......

I guess you are referring to the Lexus GS450h regarding pulling the engine and transmission out before I start on the Winnie strip down .... that would be the plan anyway, so I could fit the Zombi inverter board to the transmission inverter.
The aim is to drive both MG1 and MG2 by direct battery connection to the main inverter capacitors rather than through the buck/boost converter that seriously limits the voltage and current that can be applied to the L110 transmission.

In the original application in the Lexus, the V6 drives MG1 to power MG2, the on board battery is only designed to drive MG1 to act as a starter motor.

With both MG1 and MG2 driving and using a 400vdc nom. battery, it is capable of producing more than 250kw using the Zombie inverter board modification, that is without the 218kw that the 3.5ltr V6 produces, that is a total of 630hp with the massive torque the lower range in the L110 transmission can produce at the first revolution, no one has measured that as yet, not sure how that would be done actually, every attempt has either spun the tyres, snapped an axle or twisted off a tail shaft, so detuning at low rpm in low range is a must ;)

Re Rustic Inn.No extra fancy stuff get help to fix the leak and bits you can't do yourself, apprentice mechanic than needs extra tuition and a bit of $$? Do a spread sheet and a realistic one at that. Can you sell your old house block now? So you will be home tomorrow? Got me again on your Prof1 post above

If I don't put the Lexus set up in the Winnie, I'll put the L110 transmission on it's own in the C210 Mercedes and straighten the body work.
The XF Jag is too nice a car to remove the engine and transmission, but the Merc has an engine knock, possibly a cam as you suggested, or a bearing in the process of failing and the piston smacking the head .... either way, it's a motor out job.
