What's the matter with the wiring?
Last time I read, it was moved around when you cut a hole in the floor to fit the dismantled washing machine that wouldn't fit.
Just a tip, best not to play with the wiring and gas hoses at the same time.

I have no idea about Terry's MH but I learnt a long time ago that many makes of caravans & motorhomes have their own unique way of installing the electrical systems & unless you're prepared to fully investigate & work it out, you can create more & bigger problems.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Especially if both the gas and the power are turned on

The problem is the way they wired inside the power cupboard above the fridge. Only the power points run through the safety switch and amp meter, the hot water, air conditioner and fridge bypass that circuit, so the rely on either the generator safety switch, or the one that is hopefully on the mains supply, and we all know how well the safety switch in caravan park and showground power boxes work .....
So, I've eliminated around 4 mtrs of 3 core cable out of the power cupboard by reducing the need for cables to run in a big loop between one board and the other, by putting the 2 rotary switches in the same panel as the safety switch and gauges. That frees up the middle section for me to mount circuit breakers for the Air Conditioner, Hot Water and Fridge, so each can be turned off independently, and have the required safety switch in the circuit.
Replacing the cabling from the shore power supply to the power cupboard and the inverter supply to the power cupboard, will have to wait until the fridge is removed ..... that will be a big job, replace the 3 way fridge with a Household Domestic 240vac fridge, replacing the undersize wiring and replacing the water damaged timber on that side of the Winnie body, then repair the cracked fibreglass section ......

Dunno why this is in the Goodnight thread, but there you go.
T1, if you think Winnie wiring is kinda strange, wait til you start on the 12v riddle. The other part of the riddle, you seem to have bypassed now. So that's out of frame now. One big tip I'll give you, is don't replace the fridge til you've finished the solar upgrade, just in case you need to free camp somewhere while all the upgrades are ongoing.

No worries as far as battery power for the fridge, we will have the MG4 with us if we free camp anywhere, 51kwh will keep the fridge running for a whilesupersparky wrote: ↑Sun Sep 07, 2025 5:07 pm Dunno why this is in the Goodnight thread, but there you go.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, winter seems to be slowly creeping away. I've been in shorts and a short sleeved work shirt the past few days. I'm not a big fan of being cold. That was one of the main reasons I moved to the GC many moons ago.
I'm lying here wide awake now after a few hours sleep listening to motorbikes going in from out the road.
Why is it that you can hear a bike coming for miles but not a car?
There was a minor catastrophe here when we got home from the big green shed late this arvo. Someone dropped a 4 litre can of paint on the pavers. It made a hell of a mess. I guess I'll hear about that for a while now. We spent a long time on the clean up, hopefully there won't be too much of a stain.
Time will tell. G'night all.
