Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Dot half the bowls ladies in our club live happily in villages, there is only one who is a self funded & she has commented that she was better off financially living in her home.
One of my friends has just sold their home & moved into a village they intend to travel, have a new caravan on order, they like the idea that they have a base that is security safe & looked after when they will be away.
So many different types of villages locally here we have 8, homes ranging from about $300,000 up $900,000 depending on location & home plans & construction.

Time to sleep, goodnight 💤💤💤

Morning all have had a cool breeze for the past few days and none of the expected rain.

Not winning this year but a New year coming, going in on the 15/11 for the left hip to be replaced but depends on the cardiologist Monday.

Dot If a move is on the cards why not look at closer to Adelaide where your specialists and medical facilities are.

We have no intention of moving out of our place as position to what we need is why we bought. Starting to sort out all the collections we have so less for the daughter to dump.

Anyone interested in camping, and camp oven gear let me know?

Have a great day Robert

Well, you wouldn't believe it but the Evans Head Bowlo has a Chinese Restaurant out the back, so guess where Jd and I had a feed tonight. Wasn't bad tucker either. Beer was cold and not too expensive and we had a laugh and a yack.
It kinda made up the driving 'the road less travelled' today. It's less travelled because it's not a real good road. Some of the potholes were of a big enough size to lose a motorcycle in. Some of the bikers were seriously fanging along on that road too.
Anyway, that's Sunday done and dusted. I'm heading off home tomorrow. Goodnight all.
Cheers

Dot, totally has to be what suits you both best. We will face the problem of care if and when it happens.. Sleeping late, means that you be needing it and you are giving your overthinking brain, a chance to think in peace. xxxx

Another smoke haze filled day, so had to stay indoors. Not a lot of excitement happening here either.

I strolled down to my shed and found the big black bugger of a cheese board had settled down in my crazy mold and left the edges just raised enough to hold the cheese on the board. Now it's ok. More getting warmed up again tonight. The stash is definitely looking a lot better. I have a few left overs still in the for sale bag and because they are not as good as these, I will be putting the lot into a recycling bin somewhere. Ready to start selling the newer models now.

night all xxx

Up earlier today but only by a few hours  Pulled up some more grass and potted up the lavender plants I bought and hope they make it, the strawberry plants in the hay bale are still bright and perky so far. Blimey there is rubbish on tv. Glad Dave & Jd had a nice catch up and chinese meal, we had fush n chups for tea tonight, couldn't be bothered to even think about cooking , wouldn't mind a real chinese feed but nothing decent around here. Strath is now getting bigger there is an OTR being built and gossip has it a KFC as well. G man is finding it difficult to do lots of things now so this op can't come fast enough. The lady I used to ride with came 1st in the 160k endurance ride. Thanks for your info re the village life and your friends Shirley, and how they like the lifestyle. We shall keep looking at everything that will suit us both (plus Brian)The lady that Brian sat when we went to NZ is coming up to stay for a couple of days so there will be some laughs. Another chilly night so bed is a calling. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Deborah x :D

Good night Dottie and George, a big change to go from total independence to total rules and regulations, somehow I just can't picture you coping real well with that ... ;) :D

Stay tough old chook, hire in help if you need it, get govt assistance to live in your own house ..... I can't see you lasting very long in a seniors village .... they are full of old people

Not every place is total rules. Meaning you can't have your own freedom.

Even living in a block of flats has rules.

We live in a village, brick and tile buildings, and the rules here are very similar to living outside, with just a few exceptions.
No speeding is a prime one, then there's Dog walking, a short lead to stop them wandering etc in the gardens, pick up all their bogs, and if your dog has social problems, keep it on a short lead and control it!
No free-range animals at any time.
We do our own frontage gardens, and the Village does all the Common areas
Then there's the Old Person syndrome, don't tell me what to do, I know everything, and I'll tell you about it all the time, the best way to be a loner, from what I see here.
Apart from that, I don't see living in this village any different to living outside.
Some people you see a lot of, and some you never see.
Mt next door I saw 3 weeks ago, blinds are up so I know she's alive
One couple I met recently have been here 15 years, but they don't socialise a lot and are quite happy with the village.
But the Village next door ????? !!
Security cameras everywhere, reviewed every Monday to check up on those disobedient Villagers,( Think Gestapo and all the rules to keep them all in line with her decisions and overview )
Friends liked the layout of that Village, now they regret it.
So if you're thinking of Village Lifestyle, do a LOT of research

George rang the village sales lady and told her we had thought about what we had been told and seen and have decided not to take things further. She was very nice and wished us luck. Our reasons being, can't get a house facing Nth / Sth unless you step up to a bigger block & house, no back yard access for trailer, Can't have gas appliances, Size of property and we thought it too expensive for what is was, so there we go lots of thinking to do. T1 re the ho me help care has already been given but the $ hasn;t come through yet (2 years)Anyway I had my ultrasound this arvo, from what I could see all looks ok, Lit the fire tonight as a bit cooler than the last few nights.Might head off to a little place called Mannum in the next few days to see what's about. 8-) I'm heading to bed soon so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Noggins x :D

Dot, you can do as Noggins says and do lots of research, can't hurt to know exactly what you are signing up for. Have you asked Brian and the naughty birds what they want to do? ;) Starting to enjoy some lovely sunshine and pulled out the short sleeved T-shirts now. That feels so much friendlier than being all covered up in woolly things. xxxx

I wandered down to my shed and found all is well, more bottles getting bent up tonight. I have noticed that people are choosing much bigger earring styles, so that's the project this week. I am trying to be sensible and only make a small number of them, but well, the kiln shelf will hold at least 20 pairs. It will take me a while to get that many made up and I just don't feel creative for some reason. Anyway, more to get done tomorrow. I only made up half a dozen pairs today. Precision of placing extra bits is so fiddly, but being careful is rewarding too.

It's been lovely just watching the school holidays antics of our spoilt little rich kids in the area. A few tinnies have come out and they are being used to pull along mates on surfboards or paddle boards. Highly illegal and dangerous, but rich kids can do whatever they want. Mummy or daddy will pay any fines and they all have wonderful health insurance! Sorry for being cynical. I hate to see kids being dangerous and worse is that parents don't see it that way.

nighty night xxx
