Exactly like that Bernie. How did the assembly go. Ours went well after I walked away and left Terrie to do it herself. Took her a day or so though.
Cheers

Went to the builders today, he squashed the idea of the 6 mtr house front real quick, all things are possible, but the price ...... Full structural steel framed house, not just the Bluescope steel house frame idea they advertise on the TV, 20mm make that 200mm x 6mm thick square tube uprights and all the equivalent steel structure, much like the workshop .... remembering all the creaking and clunking as it warmed in the morning and again when it cooled in the evening ..... simply no, not even yeah nah
I came up with the idea of an A frame roof running east west, 4 mtr high front ... reduced to 3.8 mtrs because that is the council limit for a residential garage, and that still gives me the 6 mtrs in the centre of the A frame roof, so I can still work on the roof of the Winnie and have my 2 poster hoist there for working on my vehicles .... not the truck, big bus, the Mazda or the Winnie, but the others
The whole house will be on stilts, can't back fill under a slab apparently, a suspended slab was just out of the question regarding cost ..... it seemed .... though a lot of the houses hanging off the edge of the hill in Mannum are built that way .... so .... anyway ... paid the first lot of money to get the survey done and the soil testing and so on .... so, the house rebuild has actually sort of started ......

Good morning.
Yes Dave...it is a mind numbing piece of crap to put together...we sorted it out with Carol holding the piece of paper that has all the numbers on it.... and me just putting the pieces together....but all finished by lunch time..
I'm still to find away to keep it locked to the ground...more thinking...
Yesterday the temperature got to 34... that was fun working in a hot house
Today we are off to the Howard market's..I need more planting compost.. and no doubt Carol will be looking for new plants.
I'm a bit like np... have to win lotto to buy a EV.
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Bernie, sink some concrete pylons. Get ahead of the council inspection.I'm still to find away to keep it locked to the ground...more thinking.
Nothing big though. Just use big tomato soup cans as the form.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone. It's a bit windy here this morn. Nice and sunny though.
I'm not sure what I'll get up to today. Trim the greenery some more or clean and polish the Winny. Or go fishn'.
Bernie, I put our greenhouse thingo against the fence and used some big tent pegs to anchor it. It hasn't blown away yet.
Enjoy your golf Jon.
Safe travels everybody. Enjoy your long weekend, if you are having one.

Good morning All.
We had some bad news at 1am on Friday. We received a phone call from the mother of Dylan, Leonie's partner, advising that she had a call from Brighton Hospital UK that Dylan is in a bad way following a car accident. Dylan's mother lives here, in Newcastle but hers was the only number that Dylan could think of so then we received a call from her so that Julie could call Leonie who was at Uni at the time. The Uni staff called and paid for a taxi for Leonie to get to the hospital.
Dylan is in a bad way with ribs, front and back broken and in intensive care. He has no idea about the accident, when or how. Depending on future info, Julie is thinking she may fly to the UK to assist Leonie.

Re: Good morning daily
Today will be more of shuffling the fleet out of the way to make room for the 40ft container and the 2 x 20 ft containers to go butt to butt, so the doors on both can be accessed.
Ordered two of those trolleys with castor wheels under them to put the Jag rear wheels in so it will be easier to move. Still haven't had the time to get a replacement security fob and starter switch so I can unlock the rear wheels and drive it, then secure the roof lining again, a good polish and it should be ready for the next owner .....

Terrible news George, our thoughts are with the extended family. Our thoughts and best wishes are with Dylan as he fights to recover .....Newcastle George wrote: ↑Sat Oct 04, 2025 11:22 am Good morning All.

George, as Terry has said above, that certainly is bad news. Here's hoping for a speedy and complete recovery.
Cheers
