Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny GC. No rain today, and we only had about 4mm in that storm the other night.
Twas better than nothing though.
Apart from a big walk, I didn't achieve much yesty at all.
Not sure what's on today, yet.
Safe travels all those out and about.
Good morning daily

Re: Good morning daily
Does anyone have a clue about how to appease the broken mirror gods?
First thing, the winch remote doesn't work properly, so I have to switch the spade connector from one terminal to the other to change direction .... started as a minor issue .....
Trying to winch the Jimny on the Gypsie trailer up behind the smashed MG4 I bought for the Kombi conversion ..... and for some reason, it dragged the MG4 forward, even though the rear wheels are locked ...... make a 3:1 block and pulley set to drag it back to the fence, it would not move, bent the fence and snapped the winch rope ..... at the same time, Margaret was having a shower and the hot water fitting inside the wall let go and drenched the hall carpet squares and floor .... again, virtually opposite the spot where the water heater John Guest fitting let go and did a similar thing ......
Now I have the Ford and Gypsie trailer with the Jimny on it, completely blocking the driveway behind the hedge, and a serious water leak problem in the Winnie.
The water leak will have to wait for a repair, unplug the hot water system and turn the tap off, now we at least have cold water on tap, so much for tonight's shower
Extract the remaining rope from winch ... it has pulled out of the ferrule that anchors it into the drum as well
Most of the afternoon spent repairing the rope, jack up the back of the MG4 each side and put a 3mm aluminium sheet sprayed with silicon slippery in the hope it will slide on that ..... rig it all up again .... get a slight movement, then nothing ...... the knot joining the winch rope is jammed in the pulley hanging off the tow ball on the Jimny used to guide the rope FFS ...... naturally, there isn't enough slack to put the knot the other side of the pulley, the winch rope has tightened and wedged itself under the other rope on the drum ...... Multiple wire switching to alternate drum rotation to get that unstuck ....
Finally sorted, dragged the MG4 back ... naturally, it didn't slide the tyres on the aluminium sheets, it used them to surf on ...... so now I have to anchor the MG4 to the fence so I can use it to anchor the pulley so I can winch the Jimny back ...... This puts the knot on the winch drum because to rope pull length is reduced .... and that jams on the winch cross arms
Relocate the rope back under the MG4, anchored the pulley to the strap that holds the MG4 in position and run the cable back under the MG4 so the hook locks into the pulley plates that are hanging over the tow ball ..... the Jimny moves maybe 8" great, then nothing again .... you betcha, the knot is again jammed in the pulley .... but at least there is now enough room to squeeze the Prius and White MG4 back into the yard .... it is dark time by now, I have donated a few ltrs of blood to the mozzie community and I have had a simply wonderful day .... can't wait to resume the fun and games today

Re: Good morning daily
Terry, I don't know how to appease the broken mirror gods, but I do know how to fix the Winny shower dramas.
I'm thinking though, that you have already had an issue in that area recently. If you haven't already cut a vent hole in the outer skin, now is a good time.
I reckon it's the same issue that Brian fixed for Ray in Girt back at Muckleford. There is a joint in the pipework under the shower where it changes from horizontal to vertical. I know you know how to do the JG fittings, so I won't bore you with the detail.
When you are using the ally sheet as a slider plate, put cardboard under it. Makes it easier to slide on. Apart from that, enjoy your day. But that probably won't happen today.
Good luck.

Re: Good morning daily
Got the Jimny in place, after fixing the winch remote that failed completely. Seems the negative battery lead stud that bolts to the winch motor was a bit loose and it vapourised the negative lead to the remote relay module. once that found a negative path and the motor negative stud was tightened, a second wire with a female terminal to plug onto the reverse contact and a ring terminal to touch onto the positive battery input, and reverse was far easier to achieve ..... so then the remainer of the 1 1/2hrs was spent convincing the Jimny steer wheels which direction they should face .... had to drop the arm off the steering box because I still don't have a key to unlock the ignition
It is a tad warm here today, so the shower repair with the rooftop rattler running might be the next step, after lunch
The shower taps are against the hallway wall and a timber look panel I'm hoping will access them ..... otherwise ... it will be a toss up between relocating the taxi Prius or beer o'clock .... did I mention it's hot outside

Re: Good morning daily
On ours, that timber look panel has a mirror on it, sounds like yours is a tad different. Lucky. By the sound of things you need to steer well clear of mirrors.
