Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

I thought the same thing lovely photo & garden looks beautiful John.

I’ve been looking on the internet my MUX needs new tyres, it has Bridgestone Duelers, I don’t seem to be able to find the same rim diameter, it has 18 😟 🤔

Goodnight. 💤💤💤

Evening Dot, you been good yet? You getting enough sleep and rest? xxxx

Shirley, our last set of bridgestones only lasted a couple of years and we were not impressed with them. I don't have any better ideas, maybe some of the more mechanically minded/experienced may have better advice for you.

Sunday was another write off and we ended up with a negative balance at the end of the day. So not happy about that.

Today I slept as long as I could. Did a few odd jobs and then was reminded it was a Progress day and the local councilors were coming. Out of house clothes and rushed to be ready for my mate from down the road to get us there on time. Our group's sechetary had been on council a while back and she was there at the same time as the show pony who turned up today. She didn't let him get away with any of his usual grandstanding and their banter was very entertaining. The lady councilor was also interesting but what they both gave us, showed that the council seems to have two sets of rules. They each had different ideas on how council would react in a few different scenarios and it became very clear that there is one rule for the rich and then there are the rest of us. Clearly us common people get the wrong end of the pineapple every time.

It was interesting when I asked about the beautifications that have been made to our local swimming pool. Council workers came down one day recently and craned in many huge sandstone boulders right along the water's edge. This is the only fenced/netted pool into the lake in our area and it gets a lot of use. The boulders make it impossible for small children to access the pool and if the parents are lying on the grass, they can't see over the rocks to watch their monsters swimming. Exactly the same modifications were made about ten years ago and Progress made council remove the rocks from the area. I do hope we will be around to see that happening again. I love to see our money wasted by this mob....not.

The afternoon was not wasted, and worth the going.
night all xxx

Deborah that's a pity the takings were so rat poop. When G was doing his woodwork for the markets it got to the stage of the spaces were getting so expensive plus the travelling it just wasn't worth all the work and time. We went to the big Flemington (Melb) market once to check it out but the prices they were asking was out of this world so we gave it up, Some of the same type of woodwork in the posh shops were sometimes 10 times more expensive so we know how you must be feeling. My sweet peas are all up and smelling lovely, the lilac tree is also flowering and the scent wow, not to mention the double delight rose and the wisteria plus the lemon tree, love all these smells, I am going to get hold of all the MP's around here to tell me why we have to have a memorials mob to do the grave top and not being able to do it ourselves? As I mentioned prev the costs range cheapy $5k and up to $10 cheapy The name of the lessee was G's Grandparents and they are dead, so then the authority goes to the oldest child and he is dead, then to his eldest child also dead then to their eldest child but G knows nothing of them so the council lady accepted G's proof he was the executor of Beryls will and is now allowed to arrange and pay for her gave top.?? Ridiculous. Boy wasn't today hot and tomorrow is going to be hotter. Bruce what have you decided to do about your living arrangements up there? Tanks tomorrow is out excitement day ie rubbish collection  Hope all the sickies are all doing well . Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Bobr x :D

It's all good Dot. This has just been the year that we had to have.... I realised much later that the Sunday trade was so low due to it being Bathurst weekend. Of course the Coast is as full of rev heads as anywhere else, so naturally , they stayed home to watch the big race. Your garden sounds like it's just coming out to impress you. All that work does pay off. xxxx

Today was load all the clothes and foods into the van. I seemed to be loading so many things and removing only a few things. It's now that we need much lighter clothes, so I could put in a few different outfits to keep me looking good for the time that we are away and only need to do a washing day maybe once. Time will tell.
I though that all the main things were done and I lifted some mending off the sewing machine, only to find my car pillow was hidden under the pile. For those who remember the old dog bone pillows, that's the one. I do need it for long drives and it had started splitting in the outer fabric, so help was needed. A bit of fancy fabric cutting and machining followed by a lot of swearing and handstitching and all was good to go. I hope that it lasts a long time because it was such a horrible job. Done now and it will go into the car with us tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be a drive up to Hawkes Nest with our Jayco mob and then next Tuesday we will go further North to Port Macquarie. Obviously, not coming home in between stops. so a bit a careful planning was needed in packing clothes for all occasions.

nighty night xxx

Nite Dot morning Dot

Don't think young Murray got shafted Dot if he had opened up his steering a little they would have gone side by side to the next corner where he had the inside run.

Shirley,
We replaced the 18” highway tyres on our MUX with Yokahama Geolandar A/Ts.
Very good ride, lower road noise than the highways!
We had the same tyres (only 15”) on Jim the Junior Jeep.
Great off-road grip and long-wearing.
Yet to seriously challenge the off-road grip on the MUX, although we did climb a gravel track to a lookout, which required 4-LR all the way. 😉👍

ps. We bought the last five tyres in Australia with the old tread pattern.
New tread looks a bit more aggressive, so my comment on road noise may not apply.
Shouldn’t affect the wear characteristics though.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

I was watching the race and it looked like Murray was winning so I went outside again, when I came back in G told me what had happened so OK I accept your explanation Bob but to a ford

Ray,
Thanks I’ll research Yokahama Geolandars, I just had the MUX yearly inspection, they passed my tyres but told me that I needed to replace them within a couple of months, been looking at other brands?

We had the predicted storm hit on Lake Macquarie about 6.30, strong westerly wind, heavy rain & hail, only lasted about half an hour, a beautiful rainbow then appeared to the north, the sky was eerie like a yellow bright light when that cleared it was just really bright until sunset.

Good photo Dot, you all look happy :D

Goodnight everyone, pleasant dreams 💤💤
