Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Chinese..
They are the people we bought our two awnings from ..... don't be tempted to reuse the existing sail track, that was our failing and the whole lot peeled out of the sail track in one of those gusty winds.

If your awning it the same, it comes with 3 pieces of sail track, from memory, you are supposed to throw the whole awning over the roof so it lands inside out, thread the pieces of sail track on to the awning and attach then to the side of the vehicle ..... must be much easier when that isn't over 3 mtrs from the ground

This is the US video showing just how easy it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agbIkMVVSbE&t=11s tell me if it was that easy for you to do it ;)
Even once I got the thing up there, getting it to wind up was a battle all of it's own .... when I mentioned in the comments section about a better video, they asked me if I wanted to make one for them ....... there would be so many parts of the audio track that would be beeped out, it would probably be hard to follow.

Our unit has the drum and awning rolled up and laying on the ground, waiting for me to have a stretch of patience that last longer than me looking at it and then deciding on a better job that needs doing

The one for the other side will at least have the instruction the correct way around, because it will be going on the righthand side, not the lefthand side like they do in Australia

Bernie.
The winds are fairly strong and blowing that way from here Bernie, so maybe .....

When it arrives, have a close inspection regarding the gap in the 3 pieces of sailtrack supplied, compared to the stuff others use ..... my excuse is the sailtrack on the Winnie was 3 mtrs away, up the side of the body on the roof line, looked the same from the ground looking up into the sun on a hot day ....

The dome awning arrived today, freight was twice as much as guestimated by who ever I was speaking to on the phone at Males Transport at the time .... might have been cheaper to drive there myself and pick it up ..... but time was probably the real killer and it's here now, in a big welded frame box .... with that fully imported sticker on the side "Made in China" .... might go partway to explaining the difference in price compared to the one manufactured in either Qld or WA ..... well, they claim the they are manufactured there anyway .....

The quote for supply, freight and installation that was over $52k from memory, and we still had the cost of accommodation, food and transport for the team of workers to assemble it ..... it would have been cheaper to get a 12mtr x 12mtr shed built  and I still had to supply the 2 x 40 ft containers and get council approvals etc
