Today was not a day at all, George said he woke me up several times today but I do not remember any of them. It was Brian that woke me up by him smooching my face with his whiskers and purring loudly and that was 4pm   G took off my underarm dressing so now I can have a good shower and it all looks good. Nothing on tomorrow maybe a bit more gardening or even transplanting some good grass runners into G's killing fields.. Glad you got your bags back David and your insurance does the right thing. Had more rain today which was welcome indeed. Time for a nice shower so take care everyone. Goodnight one and all :D x Goodnight Rossp x :D

Gee Dot, painkillers can be so good sometimes. You must have needed the healing power of sleep and don't stress too much about the grass. It will either live or it won't. No point losing valuable sleep over it. ;) Hope that you can rest a bit more, until the arm is not so painful xxxx

Today was a typical Bathurst Sunday... not a lot of customers with money to spend. With a few sales, we still have an improvement on last year's total by a huge extra $50. I reckon that's still a win.

I just ordered some mosquito traps from ozzihome.co as Christmas pressies for the fam. Well what should have been about $200 ended costing me $500. Their webpage, just keeps on adding extra stuff that I didn't want to order. If the bug catchers are so good, why do I need to buy extra repellant stuff and extra camping traps and a heap of stuff that I didn't want? I have sent them a filthy email, demanding the return of $300 to my account and to remove all the extra things that I did not want. Far out this mob are devious and if this mob don't send me an instant reply, I will get straight onto paypal and cancel the whole order. I did suggest that ACCC would be interested in their website in my email. I do hope this get the response that I expect. I think they chose the wrong little old lady to cheat out of her hard earned.

Deborah, get onto PayPal straight away. They can't get your money back, but they can put leverage onto that mob and coerce them to return your funds. I got upsold not all that long ago, in USD. Luckily for me PayPal helped me out.

Dot, stay inside for a day or two please, and let that wound heal a bit. Some of those mulches and potting mixes have some really ordinary bugs in them.
Cheers

A null and void day due to the arm pit, and not wanting to bust any stitches. Just put stuff in the washing machine. It all dried even though there were some very fine mist about.Got rid of the lounge suit that is surplus to our needs, the lady that rang up asked why we didn't as any $$ for it? Well once again today I rang the gas mans rooms, did my nicest telling them what I thought of their no call backs and seeing we were paying for his service I think he is very rude and I may be speaking to the surgeon for another gas man. The lady was very understanding and said she would email him and get back to me.Less than a few minutes later she did call back and said the man had told her he would ring me this arvo and I am still waiting. Tomorrow is showdown day with no niceties at all. Not acceptable at all. So it is bed time as an early start is on again for more medical crap. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Ray x :D

Dot, that armpit sounds very unfriendly. Take it easy mate. More medical stuff today? gee you are starting to take up residence in the docs rooms. Hope the gas guy got back to you. xxxx

Today was a record for us (almost). We loaded up the van and were on the road by 9:30. The roads were kind to us, but the wind was ordinary. Due to the amount of dust in the winds yesterday, I had to take painkillers (extras) to sleep and then again more needed this morning. He says that we had a good trip, I don't know, I slept through most of it. We arrived home just after 2:30 so it was a clear run, with a few necessary stops. Coming home, there seem to be more easy access rest stops on our side of the road. It was easier to have those quick comfort stops and another for him to get a cuppa, than on the way to Bathurst.

We arrived home around 2:30 and just started to get things done. The van has been emptied of all the regular stuff that gets removed and it's all been put away. Tomorrow we will try to get that rego pink slip sorted and start on the real clearing out of cupboards. I have put up a lot of those hooks with "easy removable tabs" . Surprisingly, the few that I have got a start on, have come off really easily and left no marks. I might buy a fresh lot of command hooks for the next van, seeing as they seem to be working so well. Some of the actual plastic hooks look a bit tatty, but they did the job.

Dr rang me to say the underarm thingy was all clear of nasties and was a big cyst of some kind. Sutures out soon :) G saw his GP and came out with a blood form and also a CT request, he rang the X/Ray and they put him in at the same time I was having my U/Sound How was that for timing? As expected the gas man did not ring me and so watch out tomorrow. Might ring the surgeon and request another gas man if that is how he treats his employer. Got the CT done without him ;) A bit more drizzle this arvo very happy with that and so are the plants. Bet you are looking forward to tour new van hey Deborah? Glad you made a bit of dosh at the market. Hows your bowling practice going Shirley? How often do you people replace your mobiles and computers? both of mine are starting to do their own thing. Get better any sickies out there. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Woomera Jack x :D

Dot, great news re the arm. Once the stitches go, I hope it will feel a lot better. Definitely ring your surgeon. If the gas man is this rude, so will his prices be (just a theory of mine). I wish that our market profit would help with the new van, but well, not in that league . ;) Hope the Ct and ultrasounds come back with good news for both of you xxxx

Today the rego saga got worse. I called our usual mechanic to book in pink slip and they can't do them at the moment. We have to take the van to a place at Morisett tomorrow at 10:30 ggrrrrr. Hoping like mad that it passes, or we will be up the creek without a paddle.

It became very hot n humid for most of the mid day, but we did manage to get a good run of emptying bits of the van. I spent a good hour removing all the little hooks from the walls and cleaning up all the sticky tape residues. The command strip ones were good and easily removed. I had also stuck some things up with gorilla tape. It does an amazing job of keeping things (like a big laminated map) attached to walls, but it's a buggar to remove. It certainly took a while, but most of the tape is now removed from all walls. I left a single jewellery hanger and the mirror from inside the wardrobe door. The paper/pretend wood is very thin there, so decided that a little hook and the mirror would look better than ripped paper.

We both worked together to clear out the bathroom cupboards into a few boxes and then I did the rest of my wardrobe and then it was too hot to keep working in the tin box. We declared it was enough for the day and had an arvy nap.

More of the van saga tomorrow,
night all xxx

A mix of using that citrus based De=Sol-It and careful use of a heat gun seems the easiest method of removing anything stuck on, even that plastic protection tape they put on Lexan window panels and the aluminium frame on solar panels that wasn't removed before being left in the sun for yrs ....

I use mostly duco thinner for those stubborn sticky bits. Early night tonight , G had one Dr requested blood test this am. I rang the Gas mans assistant to tell her that the gas man did not ring as promised, she sent him another email and bugger me he rang within a couple of minutes apologetic of course and made a pre op for this Friday. Told him we had gone ahead and got a CT and also more blood ordered by the GP and that I would pass the results on to him, Tomorrow G has his ECG so all kitted up for the op. Pays to speak up after all you are employing these people. Then this arvo Brian went for his usual check up for his eye lid little growth and also his normal sneeze thing, She (vet) was pleased with his condition, steroid stuff cut down to 1/2 ml down to every 3 days, his eye ointment to once a day, observe and take it from there again in 2 weeks. Cost $0. And the rest of today I spent on hands and knees digging up weeds from the lawn, got about 1/2 done. Tomorrow is another day over to Dr underarm stitches to come out and G with his ECG and bloods. I might head off to the green shed to get the stronger weed and feed stuff for the broad leaf lawn type . Hope all the sickies are OK. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight VikA x :D

Dot, your vet is kind. You were lucky to find her. Brian sounds like he is an improving moggy. :D Glad that you did the gas man call and sorted him out. Now it should be all systems a gogo for Gman. Good luck with the stitches coming out, hope it will feel a lot happier once they go. xxxx

Terry, I agree with the citro clean muck, but the van interior walls are all covered with pretend wood grain paper and that stuff would erode straight through it. I left some in a clear plastic tray once and after a couple of hours there was a hole etched through the tray where the cleaner had sat. It really is strong stuff.

The pink slip was a breeze. We got out of bed early and fiddle farted until it was time to go. Once there, the guy looked at the wheels and gave us the essential slip of paper. I think when he saw that we had cash to pay, he just did bugga all. Not our problem now. We high tailed it back home and paid the rego. I have checked the RTA site tonight and the van is registered until 2026, so all that is done and I have no worries about that.

The rest of the morning was spent removing our Christmas photos from the paper covered fridge door. As we all go away together as a family for Christmas, I always add the current laminated, santa photos to the fridge door. I had been just adding the next row to the previous row, with no sticky tape going on the paper door parts. Somehow, I have managed to have a ten year span of family history and it took a while (in the heat) to remove absolutely all traces of tape from the metal frame of the door. Happily there is no way to see any tape mark now. I don't know if we will continue with this tradition in the new van or not, but we have always felt like we had out kids with us when we travel. It got way too hot to keep working in the sweat box so we closed up the van and came back to it later in the cool of the day.
We have emptied all the food cupboards and it has been interesting to find some things very out of date...The main food cupboards have been difficult to negotiate to get to things at the back of the cupboards, but just how many bottles of olive oil and vinegars can one couple need? Lots apparently.
Not much left to empty out now, so we can start to relax a bit more. Tomorrow is our annual skin check with the specialist in Newcastle, so that will be the whole day taken care of. The appointment is later in the day, so we will definitely get a sleep in to make up for the lost sleep from last night.

night all xxx
Deborah
