Terry I've used exhaust tubing in the past & as long as you keep up with the additive in the water it does last many years. I had it on water cooled irrigation engines.

Re: Our "New to Us" Winnie
I thought I'd be clever and order the aluminium one with the rolled piece at each end so the hose didn't slide off, 7 day delivery and I thought that sounded ok as well ..... unfortunately, not everything out of China travels quickly, ordered on the 7th ...... it was supposed to arrive today but tracking now says it only arrived inbound in Syd waiting for clearance 24th, it left the supplier on the 10th, so it took 3 days for them to actually put it a bag to send it, judging by the number of airport departures and arrivals, it has been on a world tour, Syd was the 4th arrival ..... Aust Post has nothing on this delivery mob ....

It is certainly looking like it will be the exhaust pipe hose join and I'll have to run a bead od weld around the ends to stop the hose sliding off.
Decided to remove all 4 fan motors to check and oil the bearings, I have a feeling I'll be ordering 5 replacement bearings in the near future and replace the lot of them
Powered up without the fan on them, you can hear the bearing aren't real happy, not at the screaming stage yet, just notchy/clicky .....
Play has been abandoned for the day as late afternoon drinks were called ... well they were calling and I gave in, so, play will resume tomorrow .....

Re: Our "New to Us" Winnie
The aluminium radiator hose joiners arrived today, so they are glued onto each end of the water filter housing to avoid them coming off and needing to remove the whole engine cover to access it and tighten them up again.
The modified fan shroud is just about finished, only needs the attaching legs made and fitted, the second 2 fan motors installed and the clearance path for the fan outer ring cleaned up with the wire wheel on the angle grinder, and it will be ready to install .... at the moment, things are again progressing at an acceptable rate ....
The air con won't be regassed before we head off the Balranald, the weekend will interfere with that fitting into the schedule ..... haven't sourced a replacement receiver dryer yet anyway, so I'll just have to sweat it out for the drive over and back .....
