Now to see if I can get Colin from gears & Cogs to regas it tomorrow .... if not, I'll wait till the gear arrives to regas using those butane cyls ..... just hope the windscreen doesn't fog up on the drive over to Balranald and back ..... I can't reach it from the drivers seat, might need a squeegee on a stick :lol:

Now to put the front back on and the lights and bullbar, then the LPG tanks .... how hard can it be :lol:

Hoping Sunday. Weatherman (not Nigel) says it will be raining Sat, don't need to be there till Tuesday really, but overnight Monday in Balranald will make it an easier trip. Probably stop over for the night in Manangatang, nice spot, friendly people, good food and beer and people at the pub across the road ... and a powered site for a donation at the pub, but you need a real long lead, the power point is between the toilets and showers, but the best parking spot for power has a children's playground between the power points and the parking spot :roll:

The LPG tanks are at least in their cradles with a strap around them so they can't fall back out. That was a mammoth effort getting the straps to bend enough to get the bolts holes at the top to line up and then get the bolts in ... had to use the motorcycle lifter that has been resurrected after two fires, it's previous life was to lift battery packs into place and inverters up so they dropped down over the wall bracket when the inverter was in a spot it couldn't be lifted any other way .......

This time, it was between the under floor and the tank strap, pushing it down toward the tank, then using the two nuts on the threaded rod welded to the other end, to move it backwards or forwards, and a block hammer for side to side movements ..... all in a spot there was barely enough room the get an arm through with the motorcycle lifter in place.... so real tricky to get two arms in there to start the nut on the bolt once it was through the hole .....

The 4 straps are in there now, so hopefully I won't get too wet when it rains tomorrow.

Colin couldn't regas the air conditioning, just too busy, so it will have to wait for the gear to arrive to do it from the butane cans .....

As it's been open for a while, don't forget to Vacc it down for at least half an hour.
If not able to do that flush it out with dry nitrogen gas
It would have absorbed moisture, and that's a number one fault when non-professionals do the job, as any excess moisture will eventually block the TX valve

Yes, the dreaded ice crystals (not the crystal meth type) form at the point the liquid expands into a gas, much the same happens if you hold the tip of a screwdriver over the valve in a tyre to release the pressure, bit of ice will fly out.
If I send part of the first can of butane through the system from the low pressure side and loosen the intake side of the receiver dryer, won't that flush any moisture out?
That way, I don't have the problem of nitrogen and refrigerant both in the system ..... although, the nitrogen wouldn't compress enough to become a liquid but being an inert gas, it would reduce and flammability concerns there could be associated with using butane ...... even though, the volume of butane in the system, released into the air volume of the Winnie, the mix ratio would be way below flammable levels .... it would just stink

Ummm..... how do I get that into the low pressure fitting on the HVAC and not affect the lubricant?
