The exhaust brake system on many light trucks is pos to earth. If one switch fails you can simply remove the wires from it. They aren't in series.
If the fanmotors are electrically isolated you can reverse the direction of current?
EDIT: I didn't mean direction but like ....... .you know if you know?
But can't you run a wire from the body of the switch to the engine block? Aligator clip? It would carry very little current if it's the relay trigger wire.

I've driven a few new million $$ motorhomes ...
wow, which ones? I'd love to drive one to see the comparison. I guess the steps would have retracted though....

Aren't you glad you asked

A Tiffin, all the extras, had to climb out the kitchen window because the door opening mechanism fell apart, the body had been mounted on top of the subframe with the holes for the wiring harness, thicker than your wrist, off set by 200mm, yet not enough room for the harness to fit between the two layers so they were crushed and the movement between the upper and lower body section had chewed it's way through the split conduit and the insulation on the top layer of wires ..... I discovered this when I had to cut holes to run new 240v ribbon cable because, apparently, you couldn't possibly run an inverter from batteries, so 1.5mm sq cable was ample to go between the electrical switchboard, at the rear of the vehicle, to the inverter mounted behind the right hand steer tyre .... but fully sealed in a box to keep the mud out
The really scary part was, the 240vac 1.5mm sq cable going to the inverter, was in amongst this huge harness that connected every touch panel to the next .... then the slide out jammed in the tracks, the body twist had sheared teeth of the upper gears that was the 4 point drive for the bedroom slide out ..... this thing was 3 mths old and had a massive 5,000kms on the clock.

The vehicle came to use via the owners, because the factory couldn't seem to get the battery to even power the 12v stuff over night, the Onan generator wouldn't power through the Victron inverter, so unless they plugged into shore power, they could get the battery fully charged ...... even though they were sold on the vehicle because it came with 1,000 watts of solar .... that turned out to be 400w, 4 x 100w solar panels, all in parallel, connected using the two into one MC4 connector links to join 2 panels, then futher down another pr of them to join the 2 panel solar cabling into the other 2 panel solar cabling ..... and 1mm conductor cable run from there to a Victron 100/30 solar controller ....no blocking diodes and when the sat dish was up, 2 panels at any time were shaded .... at the best, it put out 100w and 80 of them reached the battery, 5 amps @ 14.4v into very sulphated batteries.

This motorhome squeezed into the workshop, diagonally, with the front up against the mezzanine railing and the rear just inside enough to pull the roller door down, but we had to slide under the thing to open or close the roller door, the only way to access the rear of the shop was to squeeze past the left hand rear corner to get outside via the open roller door, then back in through the other side, slide under the thing on the creeper, or via the workshop front door ......

Then there was a new Majestic Motorhome that filled the front yard of our house in Lake Illawarra, a fully fitted out Avida Longreach, a European thing I can't remember the name of, with 2 layer flooring to keep the cold out, made out of poly sandwich board 50mm thick that you couldn't mount anything to because it had no strength .... but used diesel like there was no such thing as having to pay at the bowser, simply to power a boiler that heated the motorhome and the hot water and they wanted batteries and inverter to power a split system inverter .... because this sauna box had no form of cooling .... the list does go on a long way .....
