Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

The house and car keys were once again lost
I wonder if it is worth looking into one of those Apple AirTag type devices to attach to keyring - not to sure how accurate they are with items relatively close ie 10/15metres
Maybe that retina scan entry security ..... Margaret seems to think if I opened my eyes I could find things without her help  That way, my cataract surgery would be put to some use ;)

Dot, keep up the energy levels mate. You are definitely doing better at waking up than I am at the moment. As soon as we finish the van and are back onsite, I will probably start waking up at sparrows again. xxxx

Eddy, thanks for the suggestion. The air tags are useless and only have a guaranteed lifespan of 12 months. His lordship took both the lanyards and tied them to his keys, so he is just as peed off as I am about wasting time in the searching.

Another stinker here today. We have had 2 inches of rain in 2 days, so it must be wet sometimes, but it just doesn't cool down.

The finished curtains have all been hung and I spent a lot of the day installing the insulation inside the wardrobes to protect from dampness from all outside walls. Now all the things that normally live permanently in the van can get reinstated. The van is starting to finally come together. I am hoping to see it finished soon. I need to have a tall cushion for when using the computer. I found some foam that had been wrapped around the new lounge last year. It was the right size and is now covered in the same fabric as the rest of the van. That was a very quick job, but needed to be done.

His nibs has been emptying the tunnel boot and is amazed at what he keeps finding. The previous owner has left so much useful stuff. There is a full set of curved rafters, three annex walls of the modern stuff that look like greenhouse walls, an extra jockey wheel that is based on a bottle jack, and the list continues. It's almost like playing hide n seek and he feels like the winner every time. The previous owners must be rolling, they traded the van in on a new motor home. They will be disappointed with how little storage there really is. Jayco have a bad habit of making things look like they are cupboards, but then stuffing them with fancy equipment fuse boxes and extra things that you don't need.

I have organised for our local Christmas party at the park tomorrow, and now the weather is suggesting a 35 degree day with late storms. Fingers and toes are crossed for a successful event. I don't even have a suggested follow up date, because we won't be here. So the weather gods had better be kind to us. I look forward to this event every year

Nighty night xxx

Ha ha Deborah, after yesterdays effort I awoke at 1600hrs today George said he bought me my meds early (0900hrs) and he said I really wasn't awake then a cuppa around 1100 found that cold when he bought my banana smoothie at 0300 and that was warm when I woke up 1600hrs and my feet were very painful so not much has been done today. I did find that the weeds we worked so hard at digging out have appeared virtually over night so tomorrow G will do the mix and I shall do the spraying. Pics of the new van and curtains please Deborah, wish I could sew something more than saddle stitch as my high school sewing teacher told me :D :D I did however decided to tidy the freezer up after I just shoved stuff in and boy did I find an Aladdin's cave. So many little cakes all tucked here and there I wonder which cake fairy did that? Our rain the other night stopped after the 12 drops that we did get. Time to hit the sack and hopefully an earlier start. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Eddy x :D

Deborah how did your party go? Terrible about those Bondi shootings, what the hell is next? Nothing done at all today and my awaking time was 1630hrs. BUT I looked a the fruit trees and there on the ground was the 1st peach, the tree has quite a good lot on it and so has the plum tree and the apple tree looks happy as well.No dam cherries to be seen  Off to have the dyke cut tomorrow, G to the specialist for his check up Tues, and another couple of appointments later in the week. Deborah when you mentioned cupboards with other things in them it reminded me of when Spook got his brand new Van home he was trying all switches etc out and by chance there were 2 power points NOT connected to any thing and no water pipe to the shower ?? That was a Jayco van.  So much for quality control hey? Nothing on TV can't wait for the BOB's to begin. Q/Terry have you let yet? Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Nomads x :D

Slave driver Dot. No pictures until I get the van onsite and unpacked. Until then be kind to MrG. HIs Nibs keeps unearthing pieces of chocolate birthday cake that our daughter made for him back in September. I don't know how much he has had stashed away, but I suspect it will have filled a half a shelf in the downstairs freezer that I don't go to. Hand sewing is something I never did well, miss husquevana does a pretty neat stitch most of the time   Dot, Jayco quality control is well noted by most, but they have a very honorable warranty . As far as repairing things under warranty five years after it was new and not quibbling over it. Your orchard sound amazing. I wish we didn't have flaming fruit fly here or I would give the various fruit trees another go. xxxx

Today was our locals only Christmas party. We had a lovely time with a few new faces and many older residents and returned home only as the sun started setting around 8pm. Whilst partying, my phone had a message from our daughter, who lives in Bondi Junction and swims at Bondi Beach. "We are home and safe. Not at Bondi Beach tonight." This message was so similar to one that she sent us when the Bondi shopping mall attacks were happening, that I had tingles down my spine.

Once home and turned the tv on, we were horrified. SInce when have we had any real hate culture in this country and why is it happening? The people who are indoctrinating our young people need to be found and deported. If coming from overseas via internet, their sites need to be continually knocked off the web. So who hasn't taught them that all men were created equal and Jesus was a Jew? This whole thing has left me despondent and feeling no trust in people around us. You wonder why we don't do anything in crowds anymore? Yes I am paranoid about people crushing near me. Not even going on public transport...not that we have any available for us to use here.

night all and stay safe xxx

Finally started pulling the Yamaha RD 350 to pieces. Have taken a heap of photos and are hoping I can put it back together again. Will have to wait untill the new year to get the chrome done but still have a lot of cleaning up and painting to do. Also have a lot of new parts to find on the internet.

Been quite a cool summer up here so far with only a few fairly hot days but I am not complaining. Goodnight All. Cheers John

Deborah I can relate to your "fear" about being in confined places, I first felt like that in Melton with my sister at the big shopping center, we were abused when indicating to go into a parking space by a woman with a black all over covering, my sister was looking in a jewelers window and she was deliberately pushed and the woman said something then walked off, then on the way home up the motorway my sister said " don't look to your left as there is a car full of bearded head wrapped men partway out of the windows yelling ??? and waving their arms with closed fists. Then they ducked in front of us still yelling then a brake check us, then went behind us for a bit then back in front of us. I crapped myself and told Fran I was going to ring the cops, I got the cops told them the reg # and description of them and car and where we were on the road and within a few minutes the chopper was up and followed them and got them at a house. So I know what you mean. If that is racist then so be it. I can see how people get so angry at things but there is no excuse for what happened at Bondi. I sure got a dyke cut today, got more shopping that I missed the other day, came home had a cuppa then went outside did the weed spraying, did the washing and hung that out , changed the bed and washed that and hung out, put more pruning s in the bin, watered the grass / pot plants. Now I am buggered and tomorrow G goes for check up, Wed I see the oncologist and after that I don't know. Deborah, sounds like your old boy and G are sneaky little boys  Hey John (riverlander I think you and Terry should join forces  Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Robert not Bob x :D (take care)

Definitely agree Dot, our old men are absoloutly naughty boys and they both have very sweet teeth. Lately in this heat, he has been declaring that all he wants to eat is a piece of cake and some icecream for dinner ! Not letting that happen too often tho. xxxx

Today was invasion by his brother n wife. I managed to ignore a lot of the crap, but snide comments seem to be a family trait with them. So glad that his nibs isn't like that. They and his parents were smart enough to say the vicious stuff so quietly that his nibs has never heard it yet. I am happy whenever they leave.

My Christmas shopping that starts with the sales at Easter time online, is always dumped in the postal packing onto the floor around my desk chair and it does make a reasonably big pile of junk. I declared that I usually had just sat on the floor and put each persons presents into the appropriate santa sack and I can't bend my knee to get down onto the floor this year. I had his help to take all the packages outside to the big BBQ setting, set the santa sacks onto the chairs and each was filled with whatever. Much easier on the bones than the old way and I think the job was done in half the usual time. It was much easier to be instantly organised. I feel one more step closer to being ready to depart on Saturday.

Tomorrow will be a chiro day, so it is almost a nothing else will happen day. Some of my biscuits will be delivered along the way, but not a lot happening.

Take care out there,
Night all xxx
Deborah

Deborah know what you mean about the knees can not get my own socks on these days and I have had knee replacement.

Dot take it easy and look after the old bloke and be careful with the high heat predicted for the coming days.

Cheers and best to all.
