Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

We had a relaxing day... nothing done...cept for me sneeking out and measuring where the bracket thingys for the anti flappers for the awning go.. they may get done tomorrow... maybe..
And we got another 23mm yesterday and over night.
Today we will be at the not so little red head's place for our annual Christmas lunch... hopefully the rain won't interfere with the cellabrations...
Welcome home Terry and Margaret..
Enjoy what ever you get up to...
And keep safe.
Bernie.
The end anti flapper things lock nicely into the new sail track and don't squeak, the curved rafter battens squeak like crazy in even the slightest breeze, so a rethink from the factory idea is required I feel ..... might try heatshrink over the hook part first, become more inventive if that fails

Merry Christmas to all

Good morning.
Xmas day done and dusted 🤪..
All but one of our grandkids present..he lives in Brisbane and had to work...
Disaster... Olivia's car has the front driver side gard and door pushed in... happened last week... she was backed into by another vehicle... she wasn't in the car when it was hit... and the other driver turned out to be Olivia's mum's bosses son... she works for a solicitor... and they are picking up the tab...
Some good news from our son...his heart that was at 11 Percent after the heart attack is now at 43 persent,so good news...
I might get to those brackets today... maybe 🤔
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Good morning everyone. Its cooled off a bit here, now. There was another Christmas day mini tornado. Luckily this one missed our area.
We spent the day with Terrie's family. Mostly spent in the pool with the youngest ones.
I have no plans for today, but I'm sure we'll get up to something.
Happy boxing day everybody, safe travels.
Cheers

I think they might have some fun getting that crane down now. It's above the van park now.
Cheers

I wonder if someone forgot to pump the slue brake off so the crane could turn with the wind .... it folded at the buffer rams, so the jib was being thrown up at high speed and that would require the jib to be facing into the wind .... if the brake was released, it would have slued around until the jib was facing away from the wind. The other thing noticeable, each of those rams have both a huge spring and around 10kgs of grease that get forced out of a small hole as those buffer rams are compressed, the jib doesn't normally operate with the jib up that high that it touches the buffer rams ..... maybe a string of cascading errors

The self-erecting tower doesn't look twisted and so that sort of rules out a mini tornado ....

These are one of the smaller models of cranes I worked on building back when I subcontracted to Favco Favelle, that is how I can make educated guesses as to what happened ...

The factory is now gone and a distribution logistic warehouse complex is being built there ..... so, this one might even be a "Made in Malasia" product

Actually, it was a mini tornado. It was stacking boats on top of caravans and sending awnings to Fiji, or somewhere out to the north east. The wind went from a bit blowy to 45 knots in about 5 minutes.
And after it did its damage the sun came out again.
It didn't have as much destructive force as the one we had on Christmas night 2023.
There is a fair bit of footage on the Higgins Storm Chasing page on farcebook.
Cheers

Good morning.
Yaaa... awning finally finished 😍... fancy having to work on my birthday 🎂😁...
Just some paint work to tidy up... today maybe 🤔..
Terry there isn't enough money for Carol to have upside down fridge... house or motorhome...
Dave can't you ask for an electric only fridge as a replacement for the three way.... you know scared of having gas ??🤔
Jon turning the fridge off overnight in Qld would make for unsafe food... and bloody hot beer 🍻.. bit cooler this morning only 24.5 inside..no rain for two days... but the humidity is a killer 😡.
Keep safe.
Bernie.
