Is it possible to lock it down so you have to log on to read anything?
I hate the way that it's an open forum for anyone or thing to read.

Yes it is possible.
That decision is not mine to make though.

Re: Good morning daily
Linux has an administration program called timeshift which is like windows system restore and mac OS time machine, but is local and not a data thief. It can be run from a live usb to restore a system back to before the problem arose, luckily have only used it a couple of times in the last 2 decades and that was when my experimentations failed. Now have a number of computers for experimenting and for different tasks and time shift really helps overcome the disasters. If it's on the server for the forum, it would make it easier to provide a fast work around whilst still being able to find and fix the problem. System updates can also cause problems, especially if they're done by AI, which isn't as good as it's made out and will create lots of future problems.
Good to see Bruce was able to fix this situation, maybe a back up system could be switched to so the forum stays live, I have that in my studio because I make dumb mistakes experimenting with effects and program combinations which don't really fit.
As for locking down the forum to prevent non members reading posts and making it more secure, that would restrict those looking for a forum like this to join wouldn't get the chance to see what it's about. At the moment only a few threads are open to the public, which is good and if it interests enough to want to investigate more, they can apply to join.

Good morning...
I've almost over the withdrawals
...
Now where were we before...hmmm... that's right I was still working on the 12v power to the two remaining problems.. not wanting to remove the drivers seat and removing the side panel to find where the problem was..I just rerouted the wiring the other direction and to the fuse box in front of the passenger seat... all good
In between I've been cutting splitting timber when the chance arrived ,the rain slowed me a bit..all up 132mm.
Back to the motorhome... last week I went to Bob's tyre's in Maryborough and ordered three new tyres... which will make four drive tyre's as I already have one on the motorhome
.. I was to pickup said tyres on Wednesday...so just incase I rang them on Tuesday... lucky I did... they had a shit load of water in and the ceiling of there showroom collapsed... but was told my tyres would be ready Friday...so I now have to change the tyre myself
.
I'm putting a picture of something that the front security camera caught... anyone tell me what it is.....
Thanks Bruce for your effort of restoring the forum.
How are you going Keith?
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning Bruce & forum friends, I’m logged back in
yesterday I kept getting the PHP thingo I could write a message but it didn’t appear to post up came PHP
Bruce I only use my iPad to post on the forum never use the computer.
I reckon it would be good if it was locked down to stop other sticky beak people lurking
Beautiful morning 25c, sun shining, breeze from NW, maybe 4mm rain, we need more NIGEL, storm developing, very hot for us today 35c
Bernie, pleased you sorted the electrical problem, collect the tyres put them on & you & Carol need to get away for a couple of weeks relaxation
George you do need to stay off ladders, definitely not a good idea get Sean to cut the branches off, Alexander & young Daniel trimmed an apple gum in our front yard last weekend.
Hope that you’re still improving Keith & are able to go for a drive yourself soon.
Thanks Bruce for getting us back online, here’s hoping this posts.
PS., When I try to use the forum Smiles, they won’t post in the correct position always post further back
Bernie that looks like a section of a TV antenna

Welcome back Shirley!

Might be your ipad thingy because your smilies look ok from Samsung phone.
A lot of smilies I never see properly 'cause my ph doesn't know what they are!
A lot Bernie posts I do 't get either but I get the idea.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone. Another bright sunny day here.
I'll be off to Brissy airport shortly, to pick up Terrie, after her week in Hong Kong. We'll then make our way up to Hervey Bay and collect the MiL and bring her back with us. She will be packed and ready to escape I'm almost certain.
We should get back on Monday.
Not much else to report.
Welcome back all our forum friends.
Safe travels all those out on the roads.

Re: Good morning daily
Bruce the 1st 2 smiles are from the forum, it took me lots of clicking & deleting to get them to post where I wanted them, the rest of them are Apple
smiles from my iPad.
Travel safely David, you sure do gad about looking after the MIL, I’m sure she must appreciate you & Terrie.

Re: Good morning daily
Good afternoon All. 35*, feels like 39*.
I have spent the morning doing the washing of bedding, 2 lots, one lot is dry and folded, waiting for the 2nd lot to dry while some clothing is in the washing machine for another 40 minutes before I have to hang those out to dry.
I received a letter from Road Transport advising that I have to have my 80yo Medium Rigid driving test by May 13 so I need to organise it prior to my Taggerty visit.
