You are better than me then, I need the space shuttle's licence. New TV tuned in, all good one night then back to this stupid screen saver and breaking up pixel thingy...

Re: Which TV
Got a TV, tinny sound but will see about that . BUT thought the cracking up thing was because of the digital changeover (in the house) but we now have the same thing out in the bus, all but 1 and sometimes 2 of the channels are doing the same thing ?? pixelating/cracking up/ screen saver stuff. Have checked all the connections and all in and ok, have also retuned it a couple of times,
aerial is up and a Saturn Omni ?? what if any suggestions

Re: Which TV
do you have a signal booster, and if so, is it turned on Dot? (perhaps some late night SBS might do the trick)
also, its possible some other things like LED lights are interfering with the signal

Re: Which TV
Dot do you still have the old analogue signal as well now?
We noticed down at Kingston that once that signal was turned off that a lot of that pixelisation went away.
Signal going through trees that have rain, fog or dampness on them is terrible.
A lot here also found that tipping their antennas up 10-15 degrees helped a lot. (probably can't do that on bus?)
In our town a signal booster just increased the "bad" signal.

Re: Which TV
Martin G says the booster thing is incorporated in the Saturn Omni. Shall try the LED theory later on after a few other jobs. Bruce, analogue has gone from this area now totally digital (
) Chuck isn't having any trouble with his. G will be ringing the Saturn people tomorrow for some assistance as well.

Re: Which TV
Hi Dot,
We're looking at this
http://www.kogan.com/au/buy/24-led-tv-f ... yer-combo/
to replace our old CRT (Glass screen) analogue TV soon. We plan (budget permitting) to add a dish & VAST box to it. We decided on the Kogan after asking a similar question on the last forum (after **** shut down the original).
The 24" will fit the space, and seems to have all the bells & whistles we want - incl DVD player, PVR, etc.
I assume from your posts that you already have a flat-screen TV in the bus... and are having pixellation probs. Try rotating your aerial (if possible). Our Winegard is rotatable, and usually turning it 45 degrees or so improves the signal.
If you don't have a VAST box, it seems that it would be a good investment. All you have to do is tell the AUTHORITIES that you'll be travelling in outback areas for more than 6 months. (At least, that's what I've been advised on this forum.)

Re: Which TV
Looking at a new tv for mh. Current one is a mongrel to hop different inputs. It is a 12v job, but with the onboard power we have 240 is not an issue.
Plan is to go with a samsung smart 3d tv 32inch.
It also means we can use the hdmi cable from the vast box, watch movies straight from a hard drive, and should be able to stream photos direct from the camera or phone. Weight approx 5 kg. Overkill? We figured not if we plan to live in it.
Dot, i reckon your tv signal is shite on digital due to poor signal.
Get the satellite setup, buy an extra dish, and mount it on the house. Swap the box in and out of the bus as you travel.
