Why would they heat the roof?? Mine don't

I would have expected that the panels would act like the 'chinamans hat' method of insulation and allow any heat to escape out the high point.

Wouldn't they have an air space under them? ours have, like the ones on the bus as well.

Mine have a 100mm air gap under them, from the the Boss's photo it looks like they have too. Remember the 'tropical roof' on Landrovers, same principle, air gap insulates heat

If they have been installed correctly with an air gap between them & the actual roof.
Necessary to get rid of heat build up under the panels which can seriously affect panel output!!!
